    • Practice Mock Tests:

Mock tests enhance your chances of passing the exam significantly. These tests expose you to the kind of questions that are generally asked during the exam. Ensure practicing from various reputed sources. Practicing these question papers also keeps a track whether you can complete the entire set of questions within the allocated time.

    • Refer PMP Prep Book:

The certification exam comes with difficult and confusing questions. Referring to a good PMP prep book is important to address these kinds of questions. Good prep books make the concepts easy for you with examples and diagrams helping you connect between different processes. This reduces your burden to mug up. Mugging up the processes without understanding the connection between them will not help you answer scenario based questions.

    • Join Discussion Forums:

It is important to be a part of discussion forums and study groups online. Actively participate in discussions that take place about the possible questions in the upcoming exam, how to answer them, what are the best sources to refer etc. You can even get your doubts clarified, if you have any. Furthermore, members may have referred to different sets of questions and guides may bring up their doubts and clarifications on the forum. This will expose you to questions and topics which you had not come across before.

    • Avoid Procrastination:

One of the key factors that keep you from becoming a master of the subject matter is procrastination. If you decide to finish a topic today, ensure you do so and not keep it for tomorrow. It is best to prepare a schedule before the start of your preparations so that you can finish learning all the concepts well in advance and practice and have enough time to practice mock tests and participate in discussion forums.

    • Maintaining a Formula Sheet:

One of the biggest challenges faced by those appearing for the PMP exam is formula related questions. PMP comes with quite a long list of formulas. You may find it difficult to remember all of them. Therefore, understand them well before memorizing. Additionally, write the entire list of formulas on a sheet of paper and stick it on your study board so that you can take a glance every now and then. It is human tendency to remember those things that they look at often.

Passing the PMP exam not gives you monetary benefits in your career, it also smoothens your journey as a project manager. You will have better clarity on management principles which will make you competent to handle challenges and difficult situations with grace.
