Is there an exam for this course?

No. Six Sigma Awareness Training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through interactive discussion, case study examples and team exercises during the day rather than through a formal test.

Do I get a certificate after the training?

Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This records your attendance and awareness of the Six Sigma methodology; it is not a formal certification awarded by an external body.

Does this course qualify me to lead Six Sigma projects?

No. This is an awareness-level introduction, so it does not qualify you to lead DMAIC projects. To lead improvement projects, progress to Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt training, which are the practitioner-level programmes.

How is my learning assessed during the training?

There is no formal assessment. Throughout the one-day programme, interactive discussions and team exercises let you apply Six Sigma concepts to your own work context, reinforcing the learning as you go.

What is the difference between awareness training and a Yellow Belt?

Awareness training gives you a conceptual understanding of Six Sigma so you can support and communicate about projects. A Yellow Belt goes deeper into practitioner tools and participation. Awareness training is the ideal precursor to Yellow Belt and Green Belt courses.

The course covers Six Sigma history and philosophy, the business case and cost of poor quality, key concepts and terminology, the five DMAIC phases, Six Sigma roles from Champion to Yellow Belt, an awareness-level look at the tools, and Lean Six Sigma.

What is the DMAIC methodology?

DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. It is the structured, data-driven Six Sigma roadmap for improving existing processes, with tollgate reviews between phases. The course explains what happens in each phase at an awareness level.

Does the course cover Lean Six Sigma?

Yes. The final module introduces Lean Six Sigma, the combination of Lean waste elimination with Six Sigma variation reduction. You learn how Lean tools such as value stream mapping and 5S complement the DMAIC methodology in practice.

Will I learn about Six Sigma tools?

Yes, at an awareness level. The course introduces SIPOC, fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, control charts, Gauge R&R and process capability, so you understand what each tool is for and how it is used within a DMAIC project.

Can a complete beginner follow the content?
