Skills You Will Take into the WorkplaceHands-On Lean and Six Sigma Tools

Here is what you will learn in the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt course: how to support DMAIC improvement projects using core Lean and Six Sigma tools. By the end, you can map a process, measure its performance, help find root causes with data, and support changes that make quality stick.

    Apply the DMAIC Framework

Work through Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control to support structured problem solving on real improvement projects, and understand how each phase connects.

    Use Core Lean Tools

Apply 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban and Poka-Yoke to spot the seven wastes and streamline everyday processes in operations, production and service settings.

    Read Process and Quality Metrics

Interpret basic Six Sigma metrics such as DPU, DPMO, FTY, RTY, cycle time and cost of poor quality to measure how a process is really performing.

    Map and Define Processes

Build SIPOC diagrams, process maps and critical-to-quality trees, and use fishbone and Pareto analysis to scope problems and focus improvement effort.

    Support Data-Based Analysis

Understand basic statistics, normal distributions and measurement system analysis at an awareness level so improvement decisions are backed by data, not guesswork.

    Sustain Improvements That Last

Apply control charts, control plans and mistake-proofing so process gains hold after a project closes, keeping quality stable over time.
