    How many exams are there and what is the format?

    There are two separate exams. The Foundation exam has 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, closed book. The Practitioner exam has 40 scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, closed book. You must pass both to hold both credentials.

    What is the passing score for each exam?

    The pass mark for both the Foundation and Practitioner exams is 65%, which is 26 correct answers out of 40. Both exams are aligned to the EXIN BCS Examination Specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    What do the exams cover?

    The Foundation exam covers 14 topic areas, from what business analysis is through investigation, requirements, modelling and the business case. The Practitioner exam covers seven applied topic areas and tests the application and analysis of BA techniques in realistic project scenarios.

    Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

    The Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level. The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, with Foundation content first and Practitioner content second, and the two exams typically sat within the training schedule.

    Where can I take the exams, and can I retake them?
