What is the format of the CSM exam?

The CSM exam is an open-book, online, multiple-choice assessment taken through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete the course. It is based on the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the current Scrum Guide.

How many questions are on the CSM exam?

The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes.

What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

You must answer at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly, which is a passing score of 74%.

How many attempts do I get for the CSM exam?

Candidates typically have up to three attempts to pass within 90 days of completing the course. Verify the current attempt policy with Scrum Alliance.

When can I sit the CSM exam?

You can access the online exam through your Scrum Alliance member account within 90 days of completing the approved course. No proctor is required.
