What Is the Observability Foundation Certification?UntitledYour Route into Modern Observability

The Observability Foundation (OBSF) certification is a DevOps Institute credential that validates your ability to implement observability across metrics, logs and traces in modern IT systems. Observability Foundation Certification Training in Cameroon gives DevOps, SRE, platform and IT operations professionals a structured, exam-focused route to earning it. The programme is offered by Invensis Learning as a DevOps Institute (PeopleCert) Authorized Training Provider and is aligned to the current Observability Foundation Exam Blueprint (Body of Knowledge). You learn how observability differs from traditional monitoring, the three pillars of metrics, logs and traces, SLIs, SLOs, SLAs and error budgets, OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipelines, and alerting and incident-response practice used in cloud-native environments. As Cameroon accelerates cloud adoption, data-centre investment and fintech growth across Douala and Yaounde, employers increasingly value practitioners who can keep distributed systems reliable. The OBSF exam has 40 questions, runs for 60 minutes, is open book, needs 65 percent to pass, and the credential is valid for three years. Study with Invensis Learning and move from learning to certified with a clear, supported path.

Invensis Learning is a Peoplecert Accredited Training Organization (2778) in Cameroon, approved to deliver official Observability Foundation training using accredited courseware and standards.

Market Forces Driving Observability Demand in Cameroon

    Cloud Migration Without Visibility

As CAMTEL explores AWS partnerships and businesses move to the cloud, many teams lose visibility into distributed systems. Observability practice closes that gap across metrics, logs and traces.

    OBSF builds three-pillar observability skills

    Fintech and Mobile-Money Uptime

Mobile-money and digital-banking platforms in Cameroon must stay available at scale. Weak monitoring causes costly outages that certified observability engineers are hired to prevent.

OBSF builds SLI, SLO and reliability skills

    From Basic Monitoring to Observability

Many telecom and IT-services teams still rely on legacy dashboards that flag symptoms but not causes. Observability practice explains why novel failures happen, not just when.

Observability is now a core reliability skill across Cameroon's telecom, fintech, banking and IT-services sectors, where DevOps and SRE roles can reach the FCFA 12M to 13.8M range at the senior end. A DevOps Institute credential helps you stand out in a market with few certified observability practitioners.

The OBSF certification is a DevOps Institute credential that validates a foundational understanding of the concepts, practices and tools needed to implement observability in modern IT systems. It covers the three pillars of metrics, logs and traces, plus SLIs, SLOs, SLAs and observability tooling.

The credential is offered by the DevOps Institute (now part of PeopleCert), a global professional body focused on DevOps and IT operations skills. Invensis Learning delivers the training as a DevOps Institute Authorized Training Provider.

No. There are no formal prerequisites and the certification is open to all. Familiarity with DevOps concepts or IT operations is helpful but not required, so beginners moving into reliability roles can enrol with confidence.

Monitoring tells you when something is wrong, based on failures you predicted. Observability lets you understand why, including novel failures you did not anticipate, by exploring the internal state of a system from its external outputs across metrics, logs and traces.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes OBSF-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions, mock exams and learner support. Exam voucher inclusion varies by package, so confirm it when you enrol. Talk to a learning advisor for full details.

    Exam

What is the format of the OBSF exam?

The Observability Foundation exam is an open-book, single-answer multiple-choice paper based on the DevOps Institute Exam Blueprint (Body of Knowledge). It is delivered online with PeopleCert proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the OBSF exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 questions and runs for 60 minutes (1 hour). It is open book with single-answer multiple-choice questions, so time management and familiarity with the Body of Knowledge both matter.

What is the passing score for Observability Foundation?

You need 65 percent to pass, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. Our mock exams and exam-prep guidance help you build the broad mastery needed across all topic areas of the blueprint.

What topics does the exam cover?

The exam covers observability principles and the three pillars, metrics, logs and distributed tracing, SLIs, SLOs, SLAs and error budgets, OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipelines, alerting and incident response, and SRE and AIOps, all per the current DevOps Institute Exam Blueprint.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

Our training includes exam-prep guidance and mock exams designed to help you pass first time. If a resit is needed, the DevOps Institute resit policy applies. Ask our team about retake support available with your selected plan.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. Observability Foundation has no formal prerequisites, so professionals new to reliability engineering can start here. The training builds from fundamentals, so prior DevOps exposure helps but is not required.

What will I learn in the OBSF training?

You will learn observability fundamentals, the three pillars of metrics, logs and traces, SLIs, SLOs, SLAs and error budgets, OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipelines, and alerting and incident-response practice, all mapped to the DevOps Institute Body of Knowledge.

How long is the training and how is it delivered?

The programme runs for 16 hours, delivered as two full days or four half-days. It is available as live virtual instructor-led training and as onsite corporate training for teams in Cameroon.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes observability case studies, practice questions and mock exams aligned to the 40-question, open-book format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness before the real paper.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest OBSF blueprint?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current Observability Foundation Exam Blueprint (Body of Knowledge) published by the DevOps Institute, so you study the concepts and terminology the current exam actually assesses.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website or by talking to a learning advisor. Choose live virtual or corporate delivery, confirm your schedule, and you will receive access to courseware and resources. See upcoming batches to get started.
