Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising your ability to identify, assess and respond to project risk. It suits risk managers, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who specialise in managing threats and opportunities on projects and programmes.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising your ability to identify, assess and respond to project risk. It suits risk managers, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who specialise in managing threats and opportunities on projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Cameroon?

Yes. With major energy, port and infrastructure projects such as the Kribi Port Industrial Zone and refinery demanding formal risk management, certified risk specialists are in demand. The PMI-RMP differentiates you from general project managers and supports access to senior, better-paid risk roles.

Is PMP required before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both credentials, as they are complementary, but the PMI-RMP stands on its own as a specialist risk qualification.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised in Cameroon?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers across Cameroon and worldwide. It is particularly valued in high-risk sectors such as oil and gas, energy, banking and construction, where structured project risk management is expected on major programmes.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Cameroon?

Training fees vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. The fee covers PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock exams. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing. Request a quote for the current options.

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes 32 contact hours of instruction, PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. The PMI exam fee is not included.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-RMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, with a lower rate for PMI members than non-members. PMI membership can reduce the exam fee and provides access to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for risk, project and PMO teams. It is a cost-effective way to build consistent risk practice across your organisation. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to confirm the fee for your preferred schedule.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 multiple-choice questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book and delivered via Pearson VUE, either online proctored or at a test centre. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

The January 2022 ECO covers five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%). The training covers all five in depth.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Your result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Aim for broad mastery across all five domains of the exam content outline.

How many attempts do I get if I fail the exam?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from the date PMI approves your application. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts with PMI before rebooking.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam in Cameroon?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE once your application is approved.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers the five PMI-RMP domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. It includes qualitative and quantitative tools, response strategies and risk reporting across predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

Does this training meet the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which meets the 30-hour requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) applicants. Set A (secondary diploma) applicants need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of study.

Which standard is the courseware based on?

The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the current PMBOK Guide. This keeps your preparation matched to what the exam actually assesses.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes aligned to the 115-question format. These help you identify weak areas and build readiness across all five domains before exam day.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

You can join the training at any experience level to build risk skills and earn contact hours. To sit the exam, however, PMI requires documented project risk management experience and education, which vary by eligibility set. Our advisors can help you check your path.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP exam?

Experience must be specific to project risk management.
