Who owns and governs the AgilePM framework?

The DSDM-based AgilePM framework is owned and published by the Agile Business Consortium, formerly the DSDM Consortium. The Foundation and Practitioner examinations are administered by APMG International through online proctoring or authorised test centres.

How is AgilePM different from Scrum?

Scrum is a team-level delivery framework focused on sprints and three roles. AgilePM is a project-level governance framework covering the full lifecycle, from strategic alignment to benefit realisation, with defined business, technical and management roles. The two are complementary, with AgilePM wrapping governance around Scrum delivery.

Do the AgilePM credentials expire?

The Foundation certificate does not expire. Renewal and validity policies for the Practitioner credential can vary, so confirm the current requirements at enrolment. Our advisors can walk you through the latest position before you book.

What is the format of the AgilePM Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and runs for 40 minutes. It is closed book with a single-answer format, and the pass mark is 50%, meaning 25 correct out of 50. There are no formal prerequisites to sit it.

What is the format of the AgilePM Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is an open-book, scenario-based test of 4 questions worth 15 marks each, 60 marks in total, over 2 hours. The pass mark is 50%, so 30 out of 60 marks. The AgilePM Handbook is permitted during the exam.

What are the prerequisites for the Practitioner exam?

You need the AgilePM Foundation certification, or an accepted equivalent, before sitting the Practitioner exam. The combined five-day programme covers Foundation first, then Practitioner, so you can prepare for both levels in one pathway.

How and where are the AgilePM exams delivered?

Both exams are delivered through online proctoring or at an authorised test centre, and are typically taken at the end of each level of training. Our team helps you understand the booking process so you can sit each exam when ready.

What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit either exam under the examination institute's re-sit policy. Our preparation, mock exams and open-book technique practice are designed to build your readiness for both levels, and advisors can guide you on re-sit steps and fees.

What will I learn in the AgilePM programme?

You will learn the eight AgilePM principles, the six-phase lifecycle and management products, the business, technical and management roles, MoSCoW prioritisation, timeboxing, and planning, control and risk, at Foundation level for understanding and Practitioner level for application.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level has no prerequisites and starts from agile fundamentals, so beginners and those new to AgilePM can join. The programme then builds to Practitioner-level application, with trainer support and practice throughout.

How long is the training and how many hours does it cover?

The combined AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner programme runs as a five-day, 40-hour course. Foundation content is typically covered first, followed by Practitioner content, with the relevant exam taken at the end of each level.

Is the courseware aligned with the current AgilePM syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current AgilePM Handbook and the current Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi, so you study the framework as it is examined today.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?
