    What is the format of the Yellow Belt exam?

    The exam is closed book with multiple-choice and true or false questions, based on the IASSC Yellow Belt Body of Knowledge across the five DMAIC phases. It can be sat online with on-demand proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 60 questions with a two-hour allotted time. Some exam forms include up to six additional non-graded questions that do not count toward your score.

    What score do I need to pass?

    You need a minimum of 230 points out of 300 to pass. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control phases, so aim for broad understanding rather than depth in one area.

    Can I take the exam online?

    Yes. The Yellow Belt exam is available through an online, web-based proctoring system on demand, or at Pearson VUE testing centres. You choose the delivery mode that suits you when you purchase your voucher.

    The training covers all five DMAIC phases at awareness level: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. It includes Lean fundamentals, process mapping, basic Six Sigma metrics and control techniques aligned to the IASSC Body of Knowledge.

    What Lean tools will I learn?

    You learn foundational Lean concepts including the seven wastes, 5S, Kanban and Poka-Yoke, plus process mapping tools such as SIPOC and value stream mapping, all introduced within the DMAIC framework.

    Are practice questions and materials provided?

    Yes. The programme includes structured courseware, exercises, knowledge checks and practice questions mapped to the 60-question exam format to help you identify weak areas and build readiness.

    Is the courseware aligned to the latest syllabus?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current IASSC Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Body of Knowledge, structured around the five DMAIC phases.

    Do I need a maths or statistics background?

    No. The Yellow Belt covers statistics only at a basic awareness level, so a maths background is not required. The course is designed for beginners and explains concepts in plain, practical terms.
