What is PRINCE2 and which edition does this course cover?

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method covering seven principles, the People capability, seven practices and seven processes. This training is based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), published by PeopleCert and AXELOS.

Who should take this combined certification?

It suits project team members, aspiring project managers and practising project managers who want a recognised method credential. The Foundation level builds knowledge, and the Practitioner level proves you can apply and tailor PRINCE2 to real projects.

Do I need PRINCE2 Foundation before Practitioner?

Yes. Practitioner requires PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or an IPMA Level A to D qualification. This combined programme delivers both levels in sequence, so you can earn Foundation first and then progress to Practitioner.

How long is the PRINCE2 certification valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points, and Practitioner is renewed by re-taking the exam, completing CPD via a MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions, lasts 60 minutes and is closed book. The pass mark is 60 percent, which is 36 out of 60 correct. It tests knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 7 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, lasts 150 minutes and is open book, with the PRINCE2 manual permitted. The pass mark is 60 percent, which is 42 out of 70 marks. It tests applying and tailoring PRINCE2 in scenarios.

How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate PeopleCert exams. You must sit and pass both the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam to hold both credentials. Foundation is typically taken first, followed by Practitioner.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 exams in Hungary?

You can take both exams online through PeopleCert's online proctored system, available 24/7, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. Exams are usually arranged as part of a combined training and dual-exam package.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam through PeopleCert; a re-examination fee applies. Our prep, practice questions and mock exams are designed to build your readiness across both levels. Confirm the current re-sit policy on the PeopleCert portal.
