Do I need a PMP before taking PMI-RMP?

How long is the credential valid and how is it renewed?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. You maintain it by earning 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The exam is closed book with 115 multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes).

What are the exam domains and their weights?

Five domains under the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported with domain-level feedback such as Above Target, Target or Below Target, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass, and where can I sit the exam?

You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility window. Sit the exam via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre in Jakarta.

Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-RMP course?

You will learn the full project risk lifecycle: risk strategy and planning, identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, response, and monitoring and closing, aligned to the current Examination Content Outline (January 2022).

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can join the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and risk education; the programme provides the education hours needed for the application.

What risk tools and techniques are covered?

You cover brainstorming, the Delphi method, SWOT, probability and impact analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees, sensitivity analysis, expected monetary value and reserve analysis.

Does the training meet the education requirement?

Yes. The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour risk education requirement for degree-holding (Set B and Set C) candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest standard?

Yes. The courseware maps to the PMI-RMP ECO effective January 2022 and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, covering predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.
