    Scarce Certified Project Talent

Iceland's small labour market has a limited pool of formally certified project managers, making PRINCE2 holders stand out to employers competing for skilled delivery leaders.

PRINCE2 makes certified PMs stand out

    Consistency Across Distributed Teams

Software and medical-device exporters run cross-border projects, where a shared PRINCE2 method keeps distributed teams aligned on roles, plans and reporting.

    Value and Cost Discipline

Tighter capital and margin pressure push Icelandic organisations to prioritise the right projects and cut waste, using PRINCE2 governance to keep delivery tied to business justification.

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is a two-level project management qualification from PeopleCert and AXELOS. Foundation confirms you understand the PRINCE2 method, while Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects. Both are based on PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023).

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is a two-level project management qualification from PeopleCert and AXELOS. Foundation confirms you understand the PRINCE2 method, while Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects. Both are based on PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023).

Who should take PRINCE2 training in Reykjavik?

It suits aspiring and practising project managers, project team members and IT professionals in Iceland who want a structured, globally recognised method. Foundation has no prerequisites, so beginners can start, while Practitioner adds applied, senior-level skills.

Is PRINCE2 worth it in 2026?

Yes. PRINCE2 is recognised in over 200 countries and widely used across Iceland's public sector, energy, banking and IT industries. Project managers in Reykjavik earn strong salaries, averaging around kr 13.2M a year, and both levels signal you can deliver projects with control.

    Is PRINCE2 recognised internationally?

Yes. Over one million PRINCE2 certificates have been issued worldwide, with strong recognition across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Commonwealth markets. PeopleCert operates in more than 200 countries, so the credential travels with you.

How long is the PRINCE2 certification valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Practitioner is renewed by re-taking the exam, completing CPD via a MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher PRINCE2 qualification. Verify current renewal options at peoplecert.org.

What is new in PRINCE2 7?

PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) introduces a People capability covering leadership and stakeholder engagement, renames Themes to Practices, and integrates agile and sustainability. It is the current edition your training and both exams are aligned to.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Reykjavik?

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner training is available on request, with pricing that varies by format and schedule. The combined package typically bundles both PeopleCert exams. Contact a learning advisor for a quote for your preferred dates.

What is included in the PRINCE2 course fee?

The fee usually covers accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, both exam vouchers where bundled, practice questions, mock exams and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Ask us what your chosen package includes.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

In most combined packages the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers are included, though this varies by provider and region. PeopleCert sets exam pricing, so confirm what is bundled before you enrol. Request a quote for full details.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and PMOs across Iceland. Ask about group pricing for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

Our training prepares you thoroughly for both exams, and selected plans include retake support. PeopleCert re-sit policies apply, so check current terms at peoplecert.org. Talk to an advisor about the retake options in your package.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

Foundation is a closed-book exam of 60 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 60 percent, meaning 36 of 60 correct. It tests your knowledge of the PRINCE2 principles, practices and processes.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

Practitioner is an open-book, scenario-based exam of 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, taken over 150 minutes. The pass mark is 60 percent, or 42 of 70 marks. The PRINCE2 7 manual is permitted during the exam.

What are the prerequisites for each exam?

Foundation has no prerequisites and is open to all. Practitioner requires PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. Both exams must be passed to hold both credentials.

How and where can I take the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either online via the OnVUE proctored system available 24/7 or at an authorised test centre. They are usually arranged through your accredited training package.

Which edition are the PRINCE2 exams based on?

Both exams are based on PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), aligned to the PRINCE2 7 Managing Successful Projects manual published by PeopleCert and AXELOS. Your courseware reflects the current 7th edition syllabus.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take this PRINCE2 course?

Yes. Foundation has no prerequisites, so beginners and career changers can start with confidence. The training builds from core concepts to applied Practitioner skills, with trainer guidance and practice throughout.

What topics does the PRINCE2 training cover?

The course covers the seven principles, the People capability, the seven practices (Business Case, Organising, Plans, Quality, Risk, Issues and Progress) and the seven processes, plus tailoring PRINCE2 7 to real projects.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, references to the Managing Successful Projects manual, practice questions, mock exams and quizzes to reinforce each topic and build exam readiness.

Are there practice tests and mock exams?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams for both Foundation and Practitioner, so you can identify weak areas and prepare for the closed-book and open-book formats.

How is the combined training structured?

The combined programme covers Foundation content first, then Practitioner. It totals 32 hours of training, delivered as intensive full days or spread across more days depending on the schedule you choose.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest syllabus?

Yes. All courseware is aligned to PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the current PeopleCert Foundation and Practitioner syllabus.
