What is included in the course fee?

Are there any additional Azure costs?

Azure DevOps is free for up to five users at dev.azure.com, and exercises can use the Azure free tier. Some Azure resources used during exercises may incur usage charges. Confirm whether a shared training environment is provided when you enrol.

Assessment

Is there an exam at the end of the course?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Your learning is assessed informally through hands-on Azure DevOps exercises completed during the programme, so you leave with demonstrable practical skills.

What certificate do I receive?

You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning after completing the one-day programme. It recognises your participation and the practical Azure DevOps work you complete, and the skills are immediately applicable at work.

How is my progress evaluated during the training?

Progress is evaluated through practical, hands-on exercises rather than a formal test. You build repositories, pipelines, infrastructure as code and monitoring dashboards on Azure, so you can see your capability grow across the day.

Will I be able to apply the skills straight away?

Yes. The course is built around realistic scenarios on the live Azure DevOps platform. By the end you can create pipelines, deploy containers to AKS, write Bicep templates and set up Azure Monitor, ready to use in your own environment.

Do the skills expire or need renewing?

No. There is no credential to maintain and no renewal cycle. The practical Azure DevOps skills you gain remain applicable, and you can keep them current as Microsoft evolves the Azure DevOps services over time.

Course Content

What will I learn in the Azure DevOps course?

You will learn source control with Azure Repos, YAML CI/CD in Azure Pipelines, agile planning with Azure Boards, infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, containerised deployment on ACR and AKS, monitoring with Azure Monitor and Application Insights, and DevSecOps practices.

How long is the training and how is it structured?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours) and covers six modules, from DevOps principles and the Azure ecosystem through CI/CD, agile planning, infrastructure as code, containers and monitoring, to DevSecOps and continuous improvement, with hands-on exercises throughout.

Is the course hands-on or theory based?

It is strongly hands-on. You follow along on the Azure DevOps portal and Azure CLI while the trainer demonstrates each service, building pipelines, IaC templates and monitoring dashboards using realistic scenarios rather than slides alone.

Does the course cover containers and Kubernetes on Azure?

Yes. You build Docker images, store and scan them in Azure Container Registry, and deploy containerised applications to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using kubectl, Helm and Azure Pipelines, including canary and rolling deployment approaches.

Is security covered in the training?

Yes. A dedicated DevSecOps module covers shifting security left with Microsoft Defender for DevOps, secret and dependency scanning, Azure DevOps permissions and branch policies, and secure secrets handling with Azure Key Vault integration in pipelines.
