Governance Pressures Fuelling COBIT 5 Demand in Cambodia

    Financial Sector Cyber Risk

The NBC's 2026 technology and cyber risk guidelines require banks and financial institutions to run regular risk assessments and incident readiness, exactly the governance discipline COBIT 5 implementation instils.

COBIT 5 builds governance and risk capability

    Digital Payments Governance

Bakong and rapid fintech growth spread critical IT across banks, MFIs and payment providers, demanding a strategy-aligned governance layer that many fast-scaling institutions still lack.

COBIT 5 builds lifecycle and control skills

    Rising Compliance Pressure

Cambodia's 2026 Anti-Technology Fraud Law, with fines up to USD 250,000, raises the bar for IT control and accountability, and organisations need leaders who can embed governance to match.

    COBIT 5 builds compliance-ready governance

    E-Government Modernisation

The Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035 pushes public bodies to modernise IT and e-services, requiring mature governance and coordinated improvement programmes.

COBIT 5 builds programme management skills

    Governance Talent Scarcity

Cambodia's tech workforce is deep in delivery skills but thin in credentialed governance leaders, so professionals who can lead a COBIT 5 improvement programme are rare and sought-after.

COBIT 5 makes certified leaders stand out

    Fragmented IT Controls

Fast-growing firms often bolt on IT controls without a coherent framework, causing audit findings and value leakage that a structured COBIT 5 implementation is designed to resolve.

COBIT 5 builds change enablement skills

    General

Is the COBIT 5 Implementation certification worth it in Cambodia?

Yes. As Cambodia's banks, fintechs, telecoms and public bodies raise their technology governance standards under the National Bank of Cambodia's 2026 guidelines, professionals who can lead governance improvement are increasingly valued. The credential positions you for IT governance, GRC and IT leadership roles that sit at the higher end of the local market.

What is COBIT 5 Implementation and who is it for?

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 framework to plan and manage a governance improvement programme, including the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement. It suits governance managers, GRC and IT risk leads, consultants and CIOs.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Implementation?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required. Foundation knowledge, including the five principles, seven enablers and process reference model, is assumed and is not re-taught in the Implementation course, so you must hold Foundation before sitting the Implementation exam.

Why choose Invensis Learning for this training in Cambodia?

Is COBIT 5 Implementation recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised standard for enterprise IT governance, and the Implementation credential is valued by employers worldwide for governance leadership, consulting and GRC roles. Exams are delivered by PeopleCert, which operates in over 200 countries.

    Pricing

What is included in the COBIT 5 Implementation course fee?

The PeopleCert exam voucher is often bundled; confirm inclusion when you enrol. Request a quote to see what your plan covers.

How much does COBIT 5 Implementation training cost in Cambodia?

Pricing varies by delivery format and whether the exam voucher is bundled, so course fees for Cambodia are available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote, and ask about group pricing if you are training a team.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

The COBIT 5 Implementation exam is an open-book, objective-test paper based on the 2022 exam syllabus. Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted, and questions require scenario-based analysis rather than simple recall.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The paper has 4 questions, each worth 20 marks, for a total of 80 marks. You have 2 and a half hours, that is 150 minutes, to complete it. All four questions are scored, with no unscored pretest questions.

What is the passing score for COBIT 5 Implementation?

The pass mark is 50%, meaning you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Because it is open book and scenario-based, focus on both deep method knowledge and efficient navigation of the permitted materials.

How and where do I take the exam?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either through OnVUE online proctoring, available around the clock, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. That means you can sit it from home or office in Cambodia, or at a test centre where available.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the COBIT 5 Implementation exam. Our training includes mock exams and open-book technique practice to help you pass on the first attempt, and our team can guide you on rebooking. Confirm the current PeopleCert re-sit policy and fee before you rebook.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Implementation course cover?

The course covers four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement. All are taught at application level, aligned to the 2022 exam syllabus.

What are the seven phases of the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle?

The seven phases are: what are the drivers; where are we now; where do we want to be; what needs to be done; how do we get there; did we get there; and how do we keep the momentum going. The lifecycle is designed as a continuous improvement cycle, not a one-off project.

Do I need COBIT 5 experience before enrolling?

You need COBIT 5 Foundation, since Implementation builds on that knowledge, but you do not need prior implementation experience. The course takes you from Foundation-level awareness to the practical skills needed to lead a governance improvement programme.

Is the courseware aligned to the current syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version) and the COBIT 5 Implementation Guide, and it references the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide used in the open-book exam.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate after meeting the training requirements. On passing the exam, PeopleCert issues the official digital certificate and badge, and you may use the COBIT 5 Implementation designation.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the COBIT 5 Implementation course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. A learning advisor can help you pick the right batch and confirm your Foundation prerequisite.

What training formats are available in Cambodia?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, onsite classroom sessions and customised corporate group training. The 16-hour programme is usually delivered over two full days or four half-days, so you can choose the schedule that fits you or your team.

    How soon can I start?

New live virtual batches run regularly, and corporate sessions are scheduled around your team's availability. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to find the next batch that suits you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans allow you to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change to your enrolment.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
