    What is the format of the SIAM Foundation exam?

    The EXIN SIAM Foundation exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions. It is based on the EXIN SIAM Foundation Examination Specification, which draws on the SIAM Body of Knowledge published by Scopism.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and a duration of 60 minutes (1 hour). It is a closed-book examination.

    What is the passing score for the exam?

    You need 65% to pass, which means answering at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly.

    Where can I take the SIAM Foundation exam?

    You can take it online through EXIN's online proctored exam system or at an EXIN accredited test location. The exam is typically arranged through an accredited training provider as part of a training and exam package.

    What topics does the exam cover?

    The exam covers seven topic areas: Introduction to SIAM, the SIAM Implementation Roadmap, SIAM Roles and Responsibilities, SIAM Practices, Processes to Support SIAM, SIAM Challenges and Risks, and SIAM and Other Practices such as ITIL, COBIT and ISO/IEC 20000.

    What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

    You can resit the EXIN exam. Our training includes practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance to prepare you thoroughly for a first-time pass. Confirm the current resit policy and any fees with EXIN before you book.
