Skills You Will Build in This CourseFrom Principles to Processes

What you will learn in COBIT 5 Foundation spans the whole framework at knowledge and comprehension level. By the end of the programme you can explain the principles, enablers, process model and goals cascade, and prepare confidently for the PeopleCert exam.

    The Five COBIT 5 Principles

Apply the five principles that underpin COBIT 5: meeting stakeholder needs, covering the enterprise end-to-end, applying a single integrated framework, enabling a holistic approach, and separating governance from management.

    The Seven Enablers

Work with the seven enablers that make governance effective: principles and policies; processes; organisational structures; culture, ethics and behaviour; information; services, infrastructure and applications; and people, skills and competencies.

    Governance vs Management

Distinguish governance (the EDM domain, owned by the board) from management (the APO, BAI, DSS and MEA domains, owned by executives), and understand why this separation improves accountability and decision-making.

    The 37-Process Reference Model

Navigate the process reference model of 37 processes across five domains, understanding each process purpose, structure, and the RACI roles that define who is accountable and responsible.

    The Goals Cascade

Use the goals cascade to translate stakeholder needs into 17 enterprise goals and 17 IT-related goals, then prioritise the processes that matter most for a given organisation and strategy.

    COBIT 5 and Related Frameworks

See how COBIT 5 integrates and complements ITIL, TOGAF, ISO/IEC 38500, ISO 31000 and ISO/IEC 27001, and follow the seven-phase implementation lifecycle for continuous governance improvement.
