Assessment

Is there an exam for this course?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure exercises throughout the day, and you receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning on finishing the programme.

How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. You apply each concept during live Azure exercises, configuring pipelines, writing Bicep and deploying to AKS as you go, so you leave able to do the work rather than sit a test.

What certificate will I receive?

You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning once you complete the one-day programme. It recognises the practical Azure DevOps skills you have built during the training.

Does this prepare me for a Microsoft credential?

The course focuses on practical, hands-on Azure DevOps skills rather than exam preparation. The concepts and tools you learn are foundational to working on Azure, but no specific external exam is included or promised.

How long is the training?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours), covering DevOps principles, source control, CI/CD, agile planning, infrastructure as code, containerisation, monitoring and DevSecOps, with hands-on Azure exercises throughout.

What topics does the Azure DevOps course cover?

It covers DevOps principles (CALMS, the Three Ways, DORA metrics), Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines CI/CD, Azure Boards, Azure Artifacts, ARM and Bicep infrastructure as code, ACR and AKS, Azure Monitor and Application Insights, and DevSecOps with Microsoft Defender for DevOps.

What will I be able to do after the course?

You will be able to create Git repositories with branch policies, write YAML CI/CD pipelines, deploy to Azure App Service or AKS, provision infrastructure with Bicep, set up Azure Monitor and Application Insights, and integrate security scanning into your pipeline.

Is the course hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on Azure exercises run throughout, so you practise building repositories, pipelines, IaC templates, container deployments and monitoring dashboards using the Azure DevOps portal and Azure CLI as the trainer demonstrates each step.

Do I need an Azure account?

Yes, plan to have access to an Azure subscription and an Azure DevOps organisation before the session. A free tier is available at dev.azure.com for up to five users; check whether a shared training environment is provided when you enrol.

Does it cover DevSecOps and monitoring?

Yes. The course covers shifting security left with Microsoft Defender for DevOps and Azure Key Vault, plus observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics (KQL), Application Insights and DORA metrics for measuring delivery performance.
