Why Observability Skills Are in Demand Across Argentina

    Cloud and Microservices Migration

Argentine banks, retailers and startups are moving to cloud and microservices, creating blind spots that traditional monitoring cannot see. Observability closes that gap across distributed systems.

    OBSF builds cloud-native observability skills

    Fintech Reliability Pressure

Argentina's fintech and digital-banking boom, led by names like Mercado Libre, demands sub-second reliability. Teams need SLIs, SLOs and error budgets that observability makes measurable.

OBSF builds SLO and error-budget skills

    Nearshore SLA Expectations

Argentina's nearshore and outsourcing firms serve demanding US and global clients with strict uptime and SLA commitments, raising the value of engineers who can prove reliability.

OBSF builds reliability practice for global clients

    Monitoring-To-Observability Gap

Many teams still rely on dashboards and threshold alerts that miss novel failures. Observability lets engineers investigate the unknown unknowns using correlated metrics, logs and traces.

OBSF explains the three pillars in depth

    Alert Fatigue and On-Call Toil

Growing microservices estates flood on-call engineers with noise. Burn-rate alerting and well-defined SLOs cut false alarms and reduce the toil that drives burnout.

    OBSF builds smarter alerting strategy

    Scarce Certified Talent

Argentina has a deep developer pool but few professionals formally certified in observability practice. A recognised credential helps engineers and teams stand out to employers.

    Exam

What is the format of the Observability Foundation exam?

The OBSF exam is an open-book, multiple-choice examination with single-answer questions, based on the current Observability Foundation Exam Blueprint (Body of Knowledge). It covers the three pillars, tooling, SLIs, SLOs and observability practices.

How many questions are on the OBSF exam and how long is it?

The Observability Foundation exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and a time limit of 60 minutes (one hour). It is delivered as an open-book exam, so understanding the concepts matters more than memorisation.

What is the passing score for Observability Foundation?

The pass mark is 65%, which means answering at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly. Broad understanding across all six topic areas is the best way to prepare for the paper.

What if I do not pass the OBSF exam on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam if needed, and our training includes first-attempt guidance, mock exams and structured revision to help you prepare with confidence. Confirm the current re-sit policy and fees with the DevOps Institute.

How and where do I take the Observability Foundation exam?

The exam is delivered online with proctoring through PeopleCert OnVUE, or at an authorised test centre. You can take it from home or the office in Argentina once you are ready, within the validity of your voucher.

    Course Content

What topics does the Observability Foundation training cover?

The training covers six areas: observability principles and the three pillars; metrics, logs and distributed tracing; SLIs, SLOs and error budgets; OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipelines; alerting strategy and incident response; and SRE, AIOps and exam preparation.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. There are no formal prerequisites, so beginners are welcome. The programme starts with the fundamentals and builds up through practical examples, and the trainer supports you throughout, so prior DevOps experience is helpful but not essential.

What are the three pillars of observability?

The three pillars are metrics (quantitative measurements over time), logs (timestamped records of events) and traces (end-to-end records of requests across distributed systems). Together they give a full picture of how a system behaves.

What is OpenTelemetry and why does it matter?

OpenTelemetry (OTel) is the vendor-neutral CNCF framework for collecting metrics, logs and traces from software systems. It is the de facto standard for instrumentation, and the course shows how to use its SDKs, collectors and conventions.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest OBSF blueprint?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current Observability Foundation Exam Blueprint (Body of Knowledge) published by the DevOps Institute, so what you learn maps directly to what the exam assesses.

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you would like help choosing a batch.

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training and customised corporate group training for teams. Both are led by DevOps Institute authorised trainers, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule.

How soon can I start the OBSF training?

New live virtual batches run regularly, and corporate cohorts are scheduled around your team's availability. See upcoming schedules or speak with an advisor to find the next start date that works for you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?
