Assessment

Is there an exam for this course?

No. Azure DevOps training is a practical, non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure exercises throughout the day rather than a formal test.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning once you complete the programme. It recognises the practical Azure DevOps skills you have built and can be shared with employers.

How are my skills assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply each concept through guided, hands-on exercises, building pipelines, infrastructure as code and monitoring, so you can demonstrate the skills in practice rather than on paper.

Will I be able to use these skills at work straight away?

Yes. The exercises mirror real DevOps scenarios on Azure, so you leave able to configure Azure Repos, CI/CD pipelines, ARM or Bicep templates, AKS deployments and Azure Monitor dashboards on your own projects.

How long is the training?

The course runs for one day (eight hours), covering DevOps principles and the Azure DevOps ecosystem, source control and CI, continuous delivery, Agile planning and infrastructure as code, containers and monitoring, and DevSecOps, with hands-on exercises throughout.

What topics does the Azure DevOps course cover?

The course covers six modules: DevOps and the Azure DevOps ecosystem; Azure Repos and CI with Azure Pipelines; continuous delivery with multi-stage pipelines; Azure Boards and infrastructure as code; containers with ACR and AKS plus Azure Monitor; and DevSecOps, Azure Test Plans and continuous improvement.

What will I learn about CI/CD pipelines?

You learn to build YAML pipelines in Azure Pipelines that build, test and publish artefacts, then extend them into multi-stage releases with approval gates and deployment strategies such as canary and blue-green, deploying to Azure App Service and AKS.

Does the course cover infrastructure as code and containers?

Yes. You provision Azure resources as code with ARM templates and Bicep, and build, store and deploy containers using Azure Container Registry and Azure Kubernetes Service with Helm, all driven from Azure Pipelines.

Is monitoring and security included?

Yes. The course covers Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics for observability and DORA metrics, plus DevSecOps practices using Microsoft Defender for DevOps and Azure Key Vault to embed security into the pipeline.

Is the training hands-on or theory based?

It is strongly hands-on. You follow along in the live Azure DevOps portal and Azure CLI, configuring repositories, pipelines, IaC templates, deployments and dashboards as the instructor demonstrates each service.
