    What is the format of the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam is an open-book, online, multiple-choice test taken through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete an approved course. It is based on the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the current Scrum Guide.

    How many questions are on the CSM exam and how long is it?

    The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and you have 60 minutes (one hour) to complete it. It is taken online without a proctor after you finish the course.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    The passing score is 74 percent, meaning you must answer at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The exam is open book, so you can refer to materials while answering.

    What if I do not pass the CSM exam the first time?

    You typically have three attempts to pass within 90 days of completing the course. Our Certified Scrum Trainer led preparation is designed to help you pass on your first attempt; verify the current attempt policy at scrumalliance.org.

    When can I take the CSM exam?

    You can access the online CSM exam through your Scrum Alliance member portal within 90 days of completing the approved course. Completing the course is what unlocks the exam.
