    The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions with a single answer each, is closed book, and lasts 40 minutes. The pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. There are no prerequisites to sit it.

    What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

    The Practitioner exam has five scenario-based sections worth 16 marks each, 80 marks in total, and lasts 2.5 hours. It is open book, with the Change Management Practitioner Guide permitted. The pass mark is 50%, which is 40 out of 80 marks.

    What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

    You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam, but the five sections require analysis and judgement, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential, and our training builds both.

    What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

    Do I need Foundation before taking Practitioner?

    Yes. Change Management Foundation certification is the prerequisite for the Practitioner exam. The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, with Foundation first and Practitioner after, so you complete both levels in one pathway.

    Course Content

    What will I learn in this course?

    You will learn to guide individuals and organisations through change using recognised models, engage stakeholders, plan and communicate change, manage resistance, and embed change so it lasts. The five topic areas are covered at knowledge level for Foundation and application level for Practitioner.

    What are the five topic areas of the syllabus?

    They are Change and the Individual, Change and the Organization, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation covers them at awareness level and Practitioner at application and analysis level.

    Do I need prior experience to take this course?

    No. There are no formal prerequisites for Foundation, so beginners are welcome. The Practitioner level is designed for practising or aspiring change managers, and the training builds you up from concepts to applying models in real scenarios.

    How long is the training?

    The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as 40 hours of instructor-led training. The number of days depends on the schedule format, such as full-day or extended half-day sessions. Foundation content is covered first, followed by Practitioner content.

    Is the courseware aligned with the current syllabus?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the official Change Management Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi, the current Change Management Practitioner Guide, and the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute.
