Why PRINCE2 Skills Are in Demand Across Ivory Coast

    Governance Gap on Public Programmes

Ivory Coast's National Development Plan and donor-funded projects demand disciplined governance, yet many programmes lack a stage-based control layer, the exact gap PRINCE2 is designed to close.

PRINCE2 builds structured project governance skills

    Rapid Digital and Telecom Rollout

Telecom and banking transformation across Abidjan is accelerating, and employers need managers who can control scope, risk and quality on fast-moving delivery, not just react to it.

PRINCE2 builds change and quality control skills

    Shortage of Certified Project Managers

The local talent pool is deep in informal project practice but thin in accredited method holders, making PRINCE2-certified professionals rare and sought-after by regional employers.

PRINCE2 makes certified managers stand out

    Infrastructure and Port Complexity

Abidjan port, road and energy programmes involve many stakeholders and high capital risk, demanding portfolio-grade prioritisation, stage control and risk management at scale.

PRINCE2 builds risk and stage-control skills

    Your Ivory Coast Career Transformation

    Where You Stand Today,

And Where PRINCE2 Certification Takes You

Ivory Coast's project market is expanding with digital transformation, national infrastructure and donor-funded investment, and employers increasingly separate certified project professionals from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

    Today

Salary capped with limited leverage to negotiate in the local market

    After PRINCE2

Chef de Projet roles in Abidjan average around FCFA 12M, with senior and PMO bands reaching far higher

    Today

Shortlisted less often for roles that list PRINCE2 as preferred

    After PRINCE2

Eligible for project roles across telecom, banking, energy and infrastructure employers

    Today

Confident in delivery, but employers want structured, repeatable governance

    After PRINCE2

Fluent in tailoring a proven method to any project size and context

    You earn your PRINCE2 credentials

    Before

Project skills that rest on experience, with no recognised method credential

    Now you have

Two accredited PeopleCert credentials recognised by employers across Ivory Coast and worldwide

    Before

Stuck in a delivery role with no formal project mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into senior project, programme and PMO roles

    Before

Task focused, with limited command of end-to-end project control

    Now you have

The governance skills employers want: stages, tolerances, risk and quality control

    Before

Recognition that fades when you change sector or employer

    Now you have

A transferable credential that travels across sectors and African and Commonwealth markets

"The gap between running tasks and governing a project is increasingly a recognised method, and the employers that matter already know it."

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is a two-level project management certification based on PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments), owned by AXELOS and examined by PeopleCert. Foundation validates knowledge of the method, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply and tailor it to real projects.

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is a two-level project management certification based on PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments), owned by AXELOS and examined by PeopleCert. Foundation validates knowledge of the method, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply and tailor it to real projects.

Is the PRINCE2 certification worth it in Ivory Coast?

Yes. PRINCE2 is recognised in over 200 countries and valued by telecom, banking, energy and infrastructure employers in Ivory Coast that run complex programmes. Certified project managers are relatively scarce locally, so the credential helps you stand out and progress toward senior project and PMO roles.

Which edition of PRINCE2 does this course cover?

The course is aligned to the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), the current version published by PeopleCert and AXELOS. PRINCE2 7 introduces the People capability, renames Themes to Practices, and integrates agile and sustainability considerations across the method.

Who should take this combined PRINCE2 course?

It suits aspiring and practising project managers, project team members working in PRINCE2 environments, and professionals moving into project roles. Foundation has no prerequisites, so beginners can start here, while the Practitioner level builds applied, tailoring skills for those managing projects.

How long are the PRINCE2 certifications valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Practitioner are valid for three years. Practitioner can be renewed by retaking the exam, completing continuing professional development via a MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Ivory Coast?

Training is usually offered as a combined package covering both levels, and pricing varies by format and provider. Fees are available on request in local currency. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current schedules and options.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes accredited courseware aligned to PRINCE2 7, practice questions, mock exams, learner support and a course completion certificate. Confirm whether both PeopleCert exam vouchers are included in your chosen package when you enrol.

Are the PeopleCert exam fees included in the training price?

Exam fees depend on the package you select. PeopleCert bills the Foundation and Practitioner exams, and many accredited packages bundle both vouchers with the training. Ask your advisor to confirm what is included before you book.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments in Ivory Coast. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam is closed book with 60 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 60%, meaning 36 out of 60 correct. It tests knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book, allowing the PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual. It has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, lasts 150 minutes, and requires 60% to pass, that is 42 out of 70 marks. It is scenario based and tests application and tailoring.

What are the prerequisites for each exam?

PRINCE2 Foundation has no prerequisites and is open to all. Practitioner requires PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. Verify current accepted equivalents with PeopleCert.

Where and how do I take the PeopleCert exams?

You can sit both exams online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctoring, available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre. In a combined programme the Foundation exam is usually taken first, followed by the Practitioner exam.

What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit the exam through PeopleCert, and a reexamination fee applies. Our training includes structured practice and mock questions to help you prepare thoroughly. Confirm the current resit policy with PeopleCert.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 training cover?

The training covers the seven PRINCE2 principles, the People capability, the seven practices (business case, organising, plans, quality, risk, issues and progress) and the seven processes from Starting Up to Closing a Project, plus tailoring and exam preparation for both levels.

Do I need prior experience to start?

No. Foundation is beginner friendly and has no prerequisites, so you can start even if you are new to project management. The course builds from method basics to applied, scenario-based practice, with trainer support throughout.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive accredited courseware aligned to PRINCE2 7, practice questions, full-length mock exams and revision aids for both levels. Practitioner preparation includes technique for navigating the manual in the open-book exam.
