Why Cyprus Employers Need Observability Talent Now

    Always-On Fintech Reliability

Cyprus forex and payment platforms run around the clock, where seconds of downtime cost revenue and trust. Observability lets teams detect and explain failures fast, the exact capability this credential builds.

OBSF builds metrics, logs and tracing skills

    Cloud-Native Complexity

As firms shift to microservices and multi-cloud, traditional monitoring no longer explains why things break. Observability across the three pillars is now essential to understand distributed behaviour.

    OBSF builds distributed-systems observability

    Scarce Skilled Tech Talent

Over half of Cyprus companies report trouble hiring qualified technical staff. A recognised observability credential helps professionals stand out and helps employers close a real skills gap.

OBSF makes certified engineers stand out

    Alert Fatigue and Slow Response

Teams drowning in noisy alerts miss the signals that matter. SLO-driven, burn-rate alerting reduces noise and speeds incident response, a core focus of observability practice.

OBSF builds SLO and burn-rate alerting skills

    Fast-Scaling Startups

With the startup ecosystem growing 62.7% year on year, systems scale quickly and outgrow ad hoc monitoring. Observability built in early keeps fast-growing platforms stable.

    OBSF builds observability-by-design skills

    Uptime and Compliance Pressure

Banking, payments and trading firms carry strict uptime and regulatory commitments. Measurable service-level objectives make reliability provable, which is why observability skills are in demand.

OBSF builds SLI, SLO and SLA skills

    Observability Foundation

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Observability Foundation (OBSF) is a DevOps Institute credential that validates a foundational understanding of the concepts, practices and tools needed to implement observability in modern IT environments. It covers the three pillars, metrics, logs and traces, plus SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, OpenTelemetry and observability culture.

Yes. Observability is a core reliability skill across Cyprus's fintech, online trading, gaming and software sectors, where DevOps engineers average around 50,000 euro a year and senior SRE roles pay far more. A recognised credential helps you stand out in a market where over half of firms struggle to hire skilled tech talent.

The Observability Foundation certification is offered by the DevOps Institute (PeopleCert), a global professional body focused on advancing DevOps, SRE and observability practice. The exam is delivered through PeopleCert.

It suits DevOps engineers, SREs, platform engineers, software developers and IT operations staff, as well as technical leads and managers overseeing observability. Familiarity with DevOps or IT operations is helpful but not required.

The Observability Foundation certification is valid for three years. It is renewed by earning Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through DevOps Institute membership and continuing education activities within the three-year cycle.

Monitoring tells you when something is wrong based on known conditions. Observability lets you understand why, including novel failures you did not predict, by examining a system's external outputs across metrics, logs and traces. The course teaches how to move from one to the other.
