What do I receive on completion?

You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning after completing the programme. No credential is awarded by an external body; the value is the practical Azure DevOps skills you can apply at work immediately.

How is learning assessed during the course?

Learning is applied rather than examined. You practise directly in the Azure portal and CLI, configuring repositories, pipelines, IaC templates and monitoring, so you leave able to do the work, not just describe it.

Is any credential awarded by Microsoft?

No. Azure DevOps services are products of Microsoft Corporation, but this training is a vendor-neutral skills course and does not award a Microsoft credential. It builds practical proficiency with the Azure DevOps platform.

How long is the training and what does the day cover?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours) and covers DevOps principles, source control and CI with Azure Pipelines, continuous delivery, Agile planning and IaC, containers and monitoring, and DevSecOps, with hands-on exercises throughout.

Course Content

What topics does the Azure DevOps course cover?

The course covers DevOps foundations (CALMS, the Three Ways, DORA metrics), Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Azure Boards, Azure Artifacts and Azure Test Plans, infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, containers on ACR and AKS, Azure Monitor and Application Insights, and DevSecOps.

Does the course include hands-on practice?

Yes. Hands-on Azure exercises run throughout the day. You create a repository with branch policies, build a YAML pipeline, deploy an application, write and deploy a Bicep template, and set up monitoring and a Key Vault-linked variable group.

Does it cover CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code?

Yes. You build CI/CD pipelines in Azure Pipelines using YAML, including multi-stage deployments with approvals and gates, and provision Azure infrastructure as code with ARM templates and Bicep from within your pipelines.

Are containers and Kubernetes included?

Yes. The course covers building Docker images, storing them in Azure Container Registry, and deploying containerised applications to Azure Kubernetes Service using kubectl, Helm and Azure Pipelines, including canary and rolling deployments.

Is DevSecOps covered in the training?

Yes. You learn to shift security left using Microsoft Defender for DevOps, including secret scanning, dependency scanning and IaC scanning, plus Azure DevOps security controls and Azure Key Vault integration with pipeline variable groups.
