What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PgMP worth it for professionals in Guyana?

Yes. Guyana is the world's fastest-growing economy, and employers running large oil, gas, infrastructure, banking and public-sector programmes increasingly seek credentialed programme leaders. Held by fewer than 3,000 people worldwide, the PgMP is a rare, high-value differentiator for senior roles.

Is the PMP required before the PgMP?

No. The PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How is the PgMP different from the PMP?

The PMP validates managing individual projects. The PgMP validates managing multiple related projects as a programme to deliver strategic benefits that could not be achieved individually. It is a more senior credential with tougher prerequisites and an additional panel review.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

Pricing

How much does PgMP training cost in Guyana?

Training fees depend on the format you choose, such as live online or corporate group training, and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately and is not part of the training price. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Ask us for the exact inclusions on your chosen plan.

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD. For reference, it is around USD 800 for PMI members and USD 1,000 for non-members, and prices may vary, so confirm the current fee at pmi.org. Membership can also lower renewal costs.

Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It is delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. Results are reported with domain-level feedback rather than a fixed percentage, using a psychometrically determined passing standard.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management carries the largest weight.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the exam, can I retake it?

Yes. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our preparation, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence.

Course Content

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the application, panel review and exam strategy.

Which standard and edition is the training based on?

The training is grounded in The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline, so your preparation matches what PMI tests on the exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the exam content outline, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question exam.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

You can join the training at any experience level to build knowledge and earn contact hours. To sit the PgMP exam, however, PMI requires substantial project and programme management experience under one of its three eligibility sets.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours (PDUs) earned through the programme.

Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma you need 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP plus 84 months of programme experience; with a four-year degree the programme requirement drops to 48 months. All experience must fall within the last 15 years.

How do I enrol in the PgMP course?

What training formats are available?
