    General

What is the EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation certification?

The EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation is an entry-level Scrum and agile awareness credential that validates your understanding of the agile way of working and the Scrum framework. Governed by EXIN, it is designed for anyone who wants to work with or within a Scrum team and is the first level in the EXIN Agile Scrum scheme.

Is the Agile Scrum Foundation worth it for beginners?

Yes. The ASF is one of the most accessible ways to prove agile knowledge, with no prerequisites and a lifetime credential. In Iceland, where software, gaming and fintech teams run on Scrum, it helps beginners qualify for agile team, coordinator and Product Owner roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Who should take the ASF certification?

The ASF suits anyone joining or supporting a Scrum team, including developers, testers, business analysts, project coordinators, and managers. It is also ideal for professionals moving from traditional project methods to agile, and for those planning to progress towards the EXIN Agile Scrum Master credential.

What are the prerequisites for the ASF?

There are none. The EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to everyone, regardless of education, experience or prior agile knowledge. Attending an accredited training course is recommended to prepare you for the exam.

How long is the ASF certification valid?

The ASF certification is valid for lifetime. It does not expire, and there is no renewal, resit or continuing education requirement once you have passed the exam.

Is the EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation recognised internationally?

Yes. EXIN is an internationally recognised examination body operating in over 165 countries, with strong presence in Europe. The ASF is recognised by employers globally, which makes it valuable in Iceland and if you work across borders.
