What Hands-On Jira Skills Deliver for YouValue You Apply from Day One

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Jira training helps you turn everyday Agile theory into practical capability. You move from being a passive Jira user to someone who can set up projects, run boards, and report delivery clearly to the rest of the team. Whether you are new to Jira, joining a team that already runs on it, or stepping into a delivery or administration role in software, BPO, banking or telecoms, the programme builds the exact skills those roles expect.

If you want practical, portable Agile tooling skills that show up in your day-to-day work, this training is a direct route. You leave able to plan sprints, manage flow, write queries and, at Advanced level, configure and automate Jira for a whole team.

    • Use Jira confidently to create, assign and track issues across Scrum, Kanban and business projects
    • Run full sprints on the Scrum board, from backlog refinement to sprint review and velocity tracking
    • Search and report faster with JQL filters, saved searches and configurable dashboards
    • Build in-demand Agile delivery skills that Jamaican software, BPO and finance employers hire for
    • Configure workflows, schemes and automation at Advanced level to become a go-to Jira administrator
    • Connect Jira to Confluence, Bitbucket and GitHub for end-to-end DevOps delivery visibility
    • Finish with a course completion record from Invensis Learning and skills you can apply immediately
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Group Jira training helps organisations get consistent, reliable value from the tool they already run on. Teams learn a shared way to structure projects, manage sprints and flow, and report progress, which reduces confusion and rework. For delivery teams, PMOs and IT departments, the training can be shaped around your own projects, workflows and boards so the skills transfer straight into live work.

If your teams use Jira inconsistently or lean on a single person to configure it, group training builds shared, durable expertise. Everyone learns the same boards, JQL and reporting, and your Jira setup becomes an asset rather than a bottleneck.

    • Standardise how teams plan, track and report work across every project in one shared tool
    • Improve delivery visibility for managers with real-time boards, dashboards and Agile reports
    • Cut manual effort with Jira automation rules for assignment, transitions and notifications
    • Enforce quality and governance through custom workflows, permissions and field configuration
    • Upskill mixed teams of developers, testers, analysts and managers together on one platform
    • Reduce onboarding time as new hires learn a consistent, well-configured Jira environment
    • Delivered onsite or live virtual for teams across Kingston, Montego Bay and the wider Caribbean

What Is Driving Demand for Jira Skills in Jamaica

Global Services Sector Moving into Software

Jamaica's BPO and global services firms are climbing from voice work into software, QA and IT delivery, and they need staff who can run Agile projects in Jira from day one.

    Jira training builds delivery skills

    Banks and Insurers Going Digital

NCB, Scotiabank, Sagicor and JMMB are digitising with agile teams and API platforms, driving demand for people who can track and govern delivery in Jira.

Jira training builds tracking and governance skills

    A Fast-Growing Startup Ecosystem

Ranked the top startup hub in the Caribbean, Jamaica's product teams need delivery discipline, and Jira boards, sprints and roadmaps are how they keep work visible.

Jira training builds sprint and roadmap skills

    Scattered Tools and Poor Visibility

Many teams still track work across spreadsheets and disconnected tools, so managers lack real-time visibility, exactly the gap that well-configured Jira boards and dashboards close.

Jira training builds dashboard and reporting skills

A Shortage of Jira Configuration Skills

Plenty of people can use Jira, but few can configure workflows, schemes and automation. That scarcity makes trained Jira administrators genuinely sought-after.

Jira training makes administrators stand out

    Nearshore Delivery for North America

Jamaican teams increasingly deliver software for North American clients who expect transparent Agile reporting, making Jira proficiency a baseline requirement, not a bonus.

From Lost to Leading Our Board

"I joined a team that already ran everything in Jira and felt lost. After the Fundamentals course I could create issues, run our sprint board and read the burndown without asking for help. It changed how I work day to day."

    JQL and Dashboards That Stuck

"The hands-on JQL and dashboard sessions were the most useful part for me. I now build saved filters and reports that my whole QA team uses to track defects, instead of scrolling through issues one by one."

    Confident with Workflows and Automation

"The Advanced course took me from Jira user to Jira administrator. Workflows, schemes and automation finally made sense, and I set up a proper rule to auto-assign bugs the week I got back to work."

    One Consistent Way of Working

"We trained our delivery team together and it standardised how everyone uses Jira. Boards, reporting and sprint practice are now consistent across projects, and our management dashboards are far more reliable."

    Tailored Training That Paid Off

"The onsite corporate training was tailored to our own projects, which made it easy for the team to apply. Automation and permission schemes alone have saved our IT group real time each sprint."

Do I need to buy Jira separately for the training?

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that works best for you.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the JIRA training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination at either level. Your learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout the programme rather than a formal test.

Do I receive a certificate after the course?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the training. It confirms the programme you completed. This is a practical skills course, so no external certification or credential is awarded.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. You learn by doing, following the instructor through hands-on exercises and realistic Agile delivery scenarios in a Jira environment so you build genuine proficiency as you go.

What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

You will be able to create and configure Jira projects, manage issues across the Epic to Subtask hierarchy, run sprints on the Scrum board, use the Kanban board, plan releases with Versions, write basic JQL and interpret core Agile reports.

What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

You will be able to design custom workflows with conditions, validators and post-functions, apply permission and notification schemes, create custom fields, write advanced JQL, build dashboards, configure automation rules and administer a Jira instance.

    Course Content

What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

Fundamentals covers navigating Jira, creating Scrum, Kanban and business projects, managing issues and fields, running sprints on the Scrum board, using Kanban boards and WIP limits, roadmaps and Versions, saved filters, basic JQL and Agile reports.

What does the Advanced level cover?

Advanced covers workflow design, permission, notification, screen, field configuration and issue type schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD tools, and Jira administration.

Do I need access to Jira during the training?

Yes. You should have access to a Jira environment for the hands-on exercises, such as a Jira Cloud free trial or a shared training instance. Confirm the exact access arrangements with the team when you enrol.

Is the training hands-on or mostly theory?

It is hands-on throughout. You follow live demonstrations and complete practical exercises in a Jira environment using realistic delivery scenarios, so you build skills through practice rather than passively watching slides.

Does the course cover JQL and Jira automation?

Yes. Filters and basic JQL are covered at Fundamentals, and advanced JQL along with the Jira automation rule engine, triggers, conditions, actions and smart values are covered in detail at the Advanced level.
