Assessment

Is there an exam for the AWS DevOps course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on AWS exercises throughout the one-day programme, so you practise each tool as you go rather than sitting a formal test.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning once you complete the programme. It recognises the practical AWS DevOps skills you have built rather than a formal external credential.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

Learning is assessed informally through hands-on labs and pipeline configuration activities in the AWS Console and CLI. You apply each concept in practice, so you leave able to build pipelines, write infrastructure code and deploy containers, not just describe them.

Will these skills expire or need renewal?

No. There is no certification to maintain and no renewal cycle. The AWS DevOps skills you learn are immediately applicable at work and stay useful as you keep practising them on real projects.

What will I be able to do after completing the training?

You will be able to create CodeCommit repositories, configure CodeBuild and full CI/CD pipelines with CodePipeline and CodeDeploy, write and deploy CloudFormation templates, build and deploy containers to ECS or EKS, and set up CloudWatch monitoring with DevSecOps controls.

Course Content

What topics does the AWS DevOps syllabus cover?

The syllabus covers six modules: DevOps principles and the AWS ecosystem; source control and CI with CodeCommit and CodeBuild; continuous delivery with CodeDeploy and CodePipeline; infrastructure as code with CloudFormation and the AWS CDK; containers with Amazon ECS and EKS; and monitoring, DevSecOps and continuous improvement.

Is the course hands-on or theory based?

It is highly hands-on. You follow the instructor through live exercises in the AWS Console and CLI, building pipelines, writing CloudFormation, deploying containers and setting up CloudWatch dashboards, so the concepts are reinforced through practice.

Can a beginner to DevOps take this course?

Yes. The training introduces DevOps principles such as CALMS and the DORA metrics and all the AWS DevOps tools from first principles, so beginners can follow along. Basic familiarity with AWS and the command line helps but is not required.

Does the course cover containers and Kubernetes on AWS?

Yes. You learn to build Docker images, store them in Amazon ECR, and deploy containerised applications on Amazon ECS and on Amazon EKS, AWS's managed Kubernetes service, including how they fit into an automated CI/CD pipeline.
