Assessment

Is there a formal assessment on this course?

No. This is a practical skills course with no formal assessment. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure DevOps exercises throughout the one-day programme, so you build capability by doing rather than by being tested.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. On completing the one-day programme you receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning, recognising the practical Azure DevOps skills you have built. The skills apply immediately at work and do not expire.

How is my learning reinforced during the course?

Learning is reinforced through guided, hands-on exercises in the Azure DevOps portal and CLI. You configure pipelines, write infrastructure as code, deploy containers and set up monitoring alongside the trainer, so each concept is practised as it is taught.

Is this training a certification course?

No. It is a hands-on, non-certification skills course focused on building practical Azure DevOps capability. There is no formal credential from an awarding body, but you do receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning.

Course Content

What topics does the Azure DevOps course cover?

The course covers DevOps principles and the Azure DevOps ecosystem, source control and CI with Azure Repos and Pipelines, continuous delivery with multi-stage YAML pipelines, agile planning with Azure Boards, infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, containers on ACR and AKS, monitoring, and DevSecOps.

Will I get hands-on practice?

Yes. Hands-on Azure exercises run throughout the day. You create a repository with branch policies, write a YAML CI pipeline, add deployment stages, write and deploy a Bicep template, and set up an Azure Monitor alert and Application Insights dashboard.

Which Azure DevOps services will I learn?

You will learn all five Azure DevOps services: Azure Repos for source control, Azure Pipelines for CI/CD, Azure Boards for agile planning, Azure Artifacts for package management, and Azure Test Plans for test management, alongside supporting Azure services such as AKS and Azure Monitor.

Does the course cover infrastructure as code?

Yes. You learn infrastructure as code using ARM templates and Bicep, including template structure, deployment modes, what-if previews and modules. You also deploy IaC directly from Azure Pipelines, so your infrastructure is versioned and repeatable.

Does the course cover security and DevSecOps?

Yes. The course covers shifting security left with Microsoft Defender for DevOps, including secret scanning, dependency scanning and IaC scanning, plus Azure Key Vault integration with pipelines and the Azure DevOps security model. Security is treated as part of delivery, not an afterthought.
