Assessment

Is there an exam for this course?

No. This is a practical, non-certification skills course, so there is no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure DevOps exercises throughout the programme rather than a formal test.

Do I receive anything on completion?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning once you complete the programme. It recognises that you have finished the hands-on training and built practical Azure DevOps skills.

How are my skills assessed during the training?

Assessment is practical rather than formal. You apply each concept in live exercises, such as creating a repository with branch policies, writing a YAML pipeline, deploying a Bicep template, and setting up monitoring, so you demonstrate capability by doing the work.

Course Content

What will I learn in the Azure DevOps course?

You will learn source control with Azure Repos, CI/CD with Azure Pipelines, agile planning with Azure Boards, package and test management with Azure Artifacts and Azure Test Plans, infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, containers with ACR and AKS, and monitoring with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

How long is the training and how is it structured?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours) and covers six modules, from DevOps principles and the Azure DevOps ecosystem through source control, CI/CD, agile planning, infrastructure as code, containerisation, monitoring and DevSecOps, with hands-on Azure exercises throughout.

Does the course include hands-on practice?

Yes. Hands-on practice runs through the whole day. You follow along in the Azure portal and CLI to build pipelines, apply branch policies, deploy Bicep templates, roll out containers to AKS and configure Azure Monitor alerts and dashboards.

Is DevSecOps and security covered?

Yes. The course covers shifting security left with Microsoft Defender for DevOps, including secret scanning, dependency scanning and infrastructure as code scanning, plus Azure DevOps security features and Azure Key Vault integration with pipeline variable groups.

You should have access to an Azure subscription and an Azure DevOps organisation before the training; a free tier is available at dev.azure.com for up to five users. Ask us whether a shared training environment is provided for your session.
