Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a combined EXIN BCS credential earned in one programme. The Foundation Certificate validates business analysis concepts and techniques, while the Practitioner Certificate proves you can apply them in real project scenarios. Both are governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined EXIN BCS credential earned in one programme. The Foundation Certificate validates business analysis concepts and techniques, while the Practitioner Certificate proves you can apply them in real project scenarios. Both are governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Who should take this business analysis course?

It suits aspiring business analysts, project managers strengthening requirements skills, IT professionals moving into analysis, product owners and consultants who perform analysis work. The Foundation level is open to everyone, so beginners and experienced practitioners can both benefit.

Is the certification recognised in Mauritius?

Yes. EXIN operates in over 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered professional body for IT, so the credentials are recognised internationally, including across Mauritius banking, fund services, ICT-BPO and fintech employers.

Is this business analysis certification worth it?

Yes. Certified analysts in Mauritius earn a median of around Rs 640,000 a year, with senior and lead roles reaching well beyond, and demand is rising as banks and ICT firms transform. Two lifetime credentials and applied skills make it a strong career investment.

How long is the training and are the credentials valid for life?

The combined programme is delivered as 32 hours of instruction, typically over four days. Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are valid for life, with no renewal, re-examination or continuing education required.

    Pricing

How much does the training cost in Mauritius?

Fees vary by format, schedule and whether exam vouchers are bundled, so pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your chosen delivery mode and cohort.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes EXIN BCS aligned courseware, case studies, practice questions and mock exams, and learner support. Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers are usually part of the combined package; confirm the exact inclusions when you enrol.

Are the EXIN exam fees included in the price?

In most combined packages the two exam vouchers are included, but this depends on the plan you choose. EXIN pricing varies by region and channel, so verify current inclusions with our team before booking. Request a quote to see what your package covers.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Mauritius. Ask about group pricing for a tailored proposal.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the EXIN BCS exams?

The Foundation exam has 40 closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The Practitioner exam has 40 closed-book, scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, each presenting a project situation that requires applied judgement.

What is the passing score for each exam?

Both exams require 65% to pass, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. The same threshold applies to the Foundation and the Practitioner examinations.

How and where are the exams delivered?

You can sit both exams online through EXIN's proctored exam system, or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are usually arranged through the accredited training provider as part of the combined package.

What are the prerequisites for each level?

The Foundation Certificate has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level, which is why the combined programme covers Foundation first, then Practitioner.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can prepare with the included mock exams and practice questions to build readiness, and re-sit the relevant exam if needed. Re-sit policies and fees are set by EXIN, so confirm the current terms with our team. Talk to a learning advisor about retake support.

    Course Content

What topics does the course cover?

Foundation covers 14 topic areas, including investigation techniques, stakeholder management, process and requirements modelling, business cases and requirements engineering. Practitioner covers 7 applied areas such as strategic context, current situation analysis, solution options and business case building.

Can a complete beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level is entry-level and assumes no prior business analysis knowledge, so it is ideal for beginners and career changers. The programme then builds toward applied Practitioner skills, supported by hands-on case studies.

Which standard is the course aligned to?

The course is aligned to the official EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner examination specifications and to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, quality assured by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock exams mapped to both the Foundation and Practitioner formats, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness before you sit each paper.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, practice questions and mock exams. Materials cover investigation, requirements, modelling, stakeholder management, strategy analysis and business case development.
