    Exam

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has five scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours. It is open book, with the Change Management Practitioner Guide permitted, and the pass mark is 50%, meaning 40 of 80 marks.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam, but the scenario sections require analysis and judgement rather than simple look-up. Efficient navigation of the guide and genuine method knowledge are both essential, which the training builds.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

Our training includes practice questions, mock exams and first-attempt guidance to prepare you thoroughly for both levels. If a resit is needed, retake policies vary by provider and package, so confirm the current terms with our team before you book.

Are the two exams separate, and which comes first?

Yes, they are two separate exams. You sit and pass Foundation first, then Practitioner, for which Foundation is a prerequisite. The combined programme prepares you for both, typically with Foundation content first and Practitioner content after.

    Course Content

What topics does the syllabus cover?

The course covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organization, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation covers them at knowledge level and Practitioner at application level.

Do I need prior experience or a specific degree?

No. Foundation has no formal prerequisites and needs no specific degree or work experience, so beginners are welcome. Practitioner requires you to hold Foundation first. The training supports learners from HR, projects, OD and leadership backgrounds.

Is the courseware aligned to the current standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the official Change Management Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi and the current edition of the Change Management Practitioner Guide, underpinned by the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock exams for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, plus case studies and scenario exercises that mirror the open-book Practitioner format to build your exam readiness.

How long is the training programme?
