Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner (BA F&P) certification is a two-level EXIN qualification developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. The Foundation level validates core business analysis knowledge, while the Practitioner level tests applying analysis techniques in real project scenarios.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

The Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner (BA F&P) certification is a two-level EXIN qualification developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. The Foundation level validates core business analysis knowledge, while the Practitioner level tests applying analysis techniques in real project scenarios.

Who should take this business analysis certification?

It suits aspiring business analysts, IT professionals such as developers and testers moving into BA roles, and practising analysts who want to formalise their skills. Project managers, product owners and change professionals who perform analysis work also benefit from the two-level pathway.

Is the EXIN BCS Business Analysis certification recognised in Oman?

Yes. EXIN operates in over 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered body for IT, so the credentials are recognised internationally, including across the Middle East and Oman, where employers in banking, telecom, energy and government value analysis skills.

Is the business analysis certification worth it in Oman?

Yes. With Oman Vision 2040 driving digital transformation, demand is growing for analysts who can define requirements and align solutions to strategy. Certified professionals qualify for roles from business analyst to systems analyst and senior BA, with strong salary bands. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need any prerequisites to get started?

No prerequisites are required for the Foundation level, which is open to all. The Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite before the Practitioner level, and the combined programme covers both so you progress in one structured journey.

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement to keep them valid.

    Pricing

How much does business analysis training cost in Oman?

Fees depend on the delivery format and whether exam vouchers are bundled, so pricing is available on request. The package typically covers BCS-aligned courseware, mock exams and learner support. Request a quote for current pricing and upcoming batches in Oman.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes EXIN BCS-aligned courseware, industry case studies, Foundation and Practitioner practice questions and mock exams, learner support, and a course completion certificate. Confirm exam voucher inclusion when you enquire.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Exam vouchers for the Foundation and Practitioner exams are often bundled into accredited training packages, but inclusion varies. EXIN exam pricing also varies by region and channel, so confirm what is included when you request a quote.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for IT, PMO, product and change teams in Oman. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the EXIN BCS Business Analysis exams?

There are two closed-book exams. The Foundation exam has 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The Practitioner exam has 40 scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, each set in a realistic project situation.

How many exams are in the combined programme?

Two separate exams. You sit and pass the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam individually to hold both credentials. The combined training prepares you for both, with the Foundation covered first and the Practitioner second.

What is the passing score for the exams?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. The same threshold applies to the Foundation and Practitioner exams.

How is the Foundation exam different from the Practitioner exam?

Foundation tests knowledge and comprehension of business analysis concepts across 14 topic areas using single-answer questions. Practitioner tests application and analysis across 7 topic areas using scenario-based questions. Both are 40 questions in 60 minutes.

Where can I take the exams?

You can take both exams online through EXIN's online proctored system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. Exams are usually arranged through the accredited training provider as part of the combined package.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit an exam under EXIN's re-examination policy, and our training includes mock exams and first-attempt guidance to prepare you thoroughly. Confirm the current re-sit fee and policy for each exam before you book.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the training?

The programme covers the Foundation curriculum across 14 topic areas and the Practitioner curriculum across 7 applied topic areas, including investigation techniques, requirements engineering, business process modelling, stakeholder management, strategy analysis and business case development.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level has no prerequisites and starts from core concepts, making it suitable for those new to business analysis. The training then builds toward applied Practitioner skills, so beginners and experienced professionals both progress.

Is the course aligned to the latest standard?

Yes. The courseware is built to the EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner examination specifications and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BCS BoK), so you study current, quality-assured content.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes Foundation and Practitioner practice questions and mock exams that mirror the real exam format, helping you identify weak areas and build readiness for both the single-answer and scenario-based questions.

What learning materials do I receive?

You receive EXIN BCS-aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies illustrating analysis techniques in real scenarios, practice questions, and mock exams for both levels, along with trainer guidance throughout the programme.
