What is the format of the CAPM exam?

The CAPM exam has 150 multiple-choice questions and a three-hour (180-minute) time limit. It is closed book and is delivered through Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. It is based on the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023.

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The exam covers four domains from the 2023 CAPM ECO: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts, Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies, Agile Frameworks and Methodologies, and Business Analysis Frameworks. It reflects predictive, agile and hybrid ways of working aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

Is there a fixed passing score for CAPM?

No. PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all four CAPM domains rather than a single target percentage.

How many attempts do I get for the CAPM exam?
