    What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

    You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam. However, the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgement, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep understanding of the models are both essential.

    Are there prerequisites for the exams?

    There are no formal prerequisites for the Foundation exam, so it is open to all. The Practitioner exam requires you to hold the Change Management Foundation certification, or an accepted equivalent. The combined programme prepares you for both, taken in sequence.

    What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?

    You can resit an exam if needed. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and first-attempt guidance to help you prepare thoroughly for both levels. Ask your learning advisor about resit options and any retake support included in your plan.

    Course Content

    Can a beginner take this change management course?

    Yes. There are no formal prerequisites for the Foundation level, so beginners are welcome. The programme builds from core concepts to applied practice, with trainer guidance, examples and practice questions that support learners new to change management.

    What topics are covered in the training?

    The course covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organization, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation builds knowledge, and Practitioner develops applied skills.

    How long is the training and how is it delivered?

    The combined programme runs as a 40-hour course, delivered as live virtual, classroom or corporate group training. Foundation content is typically covered first, followed by Practitioner content, with each exam taken at the end of its level.

    Which standard is the course based on?

    The course is aligned to the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner Exam Syllabi and draws on the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute, together with the current Change Management Practitioner Guide.

    Are practice tests and materials provided?

    Yes. You receive syllabus-aligned courseware, case studies, and Foundation and Practitioner mock exams with practice questions. These help you identify weak areas, practise applied analysis and build readiness for both exams.
