What is JIRA training and who is it for?

Is Jira training worth it in Angola?

Do I need Jira experience before starting?

Not for Fundamentals, which is designed for people new to Jira with no prior Jira knowledge required. The Advanced level assumes you have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience. Basic familiarity with Agile concepts helps but is not essential.

Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

Take Fundamentals (2 days) if you are new to Jira or use it occasionally. Take Advanced (3 days) if you already use Jira and want to master workflows, schemes, automation, advanced JQL, dashboards and administration. You can take either level on its own or both in sequence.

Is this a certification course?

No. This is a practical, non-certification skills course focused on using Jira effectively, and there is no exam. You build real Jira proficiency through hands-on exercises and receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

Is a Jira licence included in the fee?

Jira software is a separate Atlassian product. Jira Cloud offers a free tier for practice, and many learners use a free trial or a shared training environment. Confirm software access arrangements with your advisor before the course.

Assessment

Is there an exam for Jira training?

No. Jira training is a non-certification course with no examination at either level. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout the programme.

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. More importantly, you leave with practical Jira skills you can apply on real projects straight away.

How are my skills assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you learn by doing, following live demonstrations and completing practical exercises in a Jira environment using realistic Agile delivery scenarios.

Will the training prepare me for real Jira work?

Yes. Every module is built around hands-on practice, so you apply each feature as you learn it. By the end you can set up projects, run sprints and boards, report with JQL, and, at Advanced level, configure Jira.

How long is each level of the training?

Fundamentals is delivered over 2 days (16 hours) and Advanced over 3 days (24 hours). Both are available as full-day or extended half-day formats depending on the schedule you choose.

Course Content

What does the Fundamentals level cover?

Fundamentals covers Jira navigation, creating Scrum, Kanban and business projects, issue and backlog management, sprint and Kanban boards, roadmaps, Versions and Components, filters, basic JQL and core Agile reports such as the Velocity and Burndown charts.

What does the Advanced level cover?

Advanced covers custom workflow design, permission, notification and screen schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD tools, and Jira administration.

Can a complete beginner take this course?

Yes. The Fundamentals level is designed for people who are new to Jira, with no prior Jira knowledge required. You are guided step by step through the platform with hands-on exercises throughout.

Will I get hands-on practice?

Yes. Both levels are delivered with live Jira exercises throughout. You follow along in a Jira environment while the trainer demonstrates each feature using realistic Agile project scenarios.

What tools and materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware, guided exercises, practice activities and reference materials mapped to each module, plus trainer support during the sessions and post-training email support.
