Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a combined, two-level qualification in PRINCE2, a structured project management method owned by AXELOS and delivered by PeopleCert. Foundation validates your understanding of the method, and Practitioner proves you can tailor and apply it to real projects. Both are based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023).

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined, two-level qualification in PRINCE2, a structured project management method owned by AXELOS and delivered by PeopleCert. Foundation validates your understanding of the method, and Practitioner proves you can tailor and apply it to real projects. Both are based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023).

Is PRINCE2 worth it for project managers in Hobart?

Yes. PRINCE2 is widely recognised across Tasmania's government, energy, health and research sectors, where structured delivery is expected. Project manager roles in Hobart average around A$144K per year, and PRINCE2 is often listed as preferred or essential for delivery and PMO positions.

Who should take this combined PRINCE2 course?

The course suits aspiring project managers, project team members working in PRINCE2 environments, IT professionals moving into delivery, and experienced managers who want a recognised method behind their experience. PMP or CAPM holders also take it to work in UK and Commonwealth markets.

What is the difference between Foundation and Practitioner?

Foundation tests your knowledge and comprehension of PRINCE2 with a closed-book exam. Practitioner tests your ability to apply and tailor the method to project scenarios with an open-book exam. Foundation is the entry level; Practitioner is the advanced level and requires Foundation first.

How long are the PRINCE2 certifications valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points, and Practitioner can be renewed by re-sitting the exam, completing CPD via a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Hobart?

Fees vary by format, whether live virtual, classroom or corporate. Combined Foundation and Practitioner packages usually bundle training with both exam vouchers. Contact us for current Hobart pricing, or request a quote for the format and schedule that suits you.

What is included in the PRINCE2 course fee?

Training typically includes accredited courseware, practice questions, mock exams, templates, learner support, and dual exam vouchers where a combined package is chosen. What is included depends on the plan you select. Ask a learning advisor for the full inclusions.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

In most combined packages the PeopleCert Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers are bundled with the training. Some self-paced plans price the exams separately. Confirm what is included before you enrol so there are no surprises.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, delivery teams and departments in Hobart and across Tasmania. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you best.

    Exam

How many exams are in the combined PRINCE2 programme?

There are two separate PeopleCert exams: the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials. The combined training prepares you for each, with Foundation typically taken before Practitioner.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions and lasts 60 minutes. It is closed book, and the passing score is 60 percent, which is 36 out of 60 correct. It tests your knowledge of PRINCE2 principles, people, practices and processes.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks and lasts 150 minutes. It is open book, so the PRINCE2 7 manual is permitted, and the passing score is 60 percent, which is 42 out of 70 marks. It is scenario based.

What is the passing score for the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams require 60 percent to pass. For Foundation that is 36 out of 60 questions correct. For Practitioner that is 42 out of 70 marks. Both are delivered online with PeopleCert proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

What happens if I do not pass an exam?

You can re-sit the exam you did not pass. Retake policies and any re-examination fees are set by PeopleCert, so confirm the current terms before you book. Our trainers also provide focused support to help you prepare for a resit with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 course cover?

The course covers the seven PRINCE2 principles, the People capability, the seven practices such as Business Case, Risk and Quality, and the seven processes from Starting Up to Closing a Project, plus tailoring and exam preparation for both levels.

Do I need experience to take this course?

No experience is required for Foundation, which has no prerequisites. Practitioner requires PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA. The combined programme is beginner friendly and builds from the basics upward.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PRINCE2 edition?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the PRINCE2 7 Foundation and Practitioner syllabuses, based on the Managing Successful Projects manual published by PeopleCert and AXELOS.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes for both levels. These help you find weak areas, practise open-book technique for Practitioner, and build readiness for both exams.

Will I get a certificate of completion?

Yes. After completing the training you receive a course completion certificate. On passing each PeopleCert exam you also receive the official PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner digital certificates and badges.

    Enrollment

What are the prerequisites to enrol in PRINCE2 training?

Anyone can enrol in the training. There are no prerequisites for the Foundation exam. To sit Practitioner you need PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent, and the combined course is designed so you complete Foundation first.

How do I enrol in the PRINCE2 course in Hobart?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you would like help choosing a batch.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?
