Why Sydney Employers Need Certified PRINCE2 Talent

    Public Sector Method Preference

NSW and Australian public sector and Commonwealth projects frequently expect structured, PRINCE2-style governance. Certified professionals meet that requirement and become easier to place on funded work.

PRINCE2 meets government project governance expectations

    Infrastructure Delivery at Scale

Sydney Metro West, Western Sydney Airport and a large national pipeline demand disciplined project control across stages. PRINCE2 gives teams the structure to plan, govern and report at scale.

PRINCE2 builds governance, risk and control skills

    Financial Services Transformation

Sydney's banks and fintechs run heavy change and regulatory portfolios. PRINCE2 governance helps control risk, protect scope and keep quality consistent across concurrent projects.

PRINCE2 controls scope, risk and quality

    Inconsistent Project Governance

Many organisations deliver projects with ad hoc practices and unclear roles. PRINCE2 provides a shared, tailorable method that standardises how work is initiated, managed and closed.

PRINCE2 gives teams a common, tailorable method

    Method-Fluent Talent Shortage

Employers compete for project managers who can prove method fluency, not just delivery experience. The combined Foundation and Practitioner credential makes certified holders stand out.

The dual credential makes holders stand out

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is a combined, two-level project management certification from AXELOS, delivered by PeopleCert. Foundation confirms you understand the PRINCE2 method, while Practitioner confirms you can apply and tailor it to real projects. Together they cover the full PRINCE2 7 method.

Who should take PRINCE2 training in Sydney?

It suits project coordinators, project managers, delivery leads and team members working in PRINCE2 environments. In Sydney it is especially relevant for professionals in technology, banking, construction, infrastructure and the NSW public sector who want a recognised, structured project method.

    Is PRINCE2 recognised in Australia?

Yes. PRINCE2 is recognised globally and is widely used across Australia, particularly in government, Commonwealth and enterprise projects. PeopleCert operates in over 200 countries, and more than one million PRINCE2 certificates have been issued worldwide.

What edition of PRINCE2 does this course cover?

The course covers the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), published by PeopleCert and AXELOS. PRINCE2 7 introduced the People capability, renamed Themes to Practices, and integrated agile and sustainability considerations into the method.

Is the PRINCE2 certification worth it in Sydney?

For most project professionals, yes. PRINCE2 is preferred on many Sydney public sector and enterprise projects, and project managers in the city average around A$130,000 with senior roles reaching well beyond. The credential helps you qualify for and stand out in these roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Sydney?

Training fees vary by format and schedule, and current pricing is available on request. The fee typically includes courseware, practice questions and mock exams, while the PeopleCert exam fees are billed separately. Request a quote for the format that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam is closed book with 60 multiple-choice questions to answer in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 60 per cent, which is 36 out of 60 correct. It tests your knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 7 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book, with the PRINCE2 manual permitted. It has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, over 150 minutes. The pass mark is 60 per cent, which is 42 out of 70 marks, and it uses scenario-based questions.

What are the passing scores for the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams require 60 per cent to pass. For Foundation that is 36 out of 60 questions correct, and for Practitioner that is 42 out of 70 marks. You must pass both exams to hold both credentials.

Do I need PRINCE2 Foundation before the Practitioner exam?

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA, is a prerequisite for the Practitioner exam. Foundation has no prerequisites, so the combined programme takes you through both levels in sequence.

What happens if I do not pass an exam?

You can resit a PeopleCert exam if needed. Our training includes mock exams and preparation support to help you pass, and selected plans offer retake or reschedule options. Ask a learning advisor about the support included in your package.
