What Is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Pathway?UntitledYour Route to Structured Project Delivery

The PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) Foundation and Practitioner certification training in Basel prepares you to plan, govern and deliver projects using the world's most widely adopted structured project management method. It covers both levels in one pathway and readies you for the two PeopleCert examinations based on PRINCE2 7, the current 7th edition published in 2023. PRINCE2 7 introduced a new People capability, renamed the former themes as seven practices, and wove in agile, sustainability and commercial management. In Basel's regulated pharma, life sciences and banking environments, that emphasis on defined roles, controlled stages and continued business justification maps directly to how projects are actually governed here. Whether you are new to the method or a practising project manager formalising your skills, the Foundation level builds your knowledge and the Practitioner level proves you can tailor PRINCE2 to real scenarios. Begin your PRINCE2 journey with Invensis Learning and step into Basel's project market with a globally recognised credential.

Invensis Learning is a Peoplecert Accredited Training Organization (2778) in Basel, approved to deliver official PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Certification training using accredited courseware and standards.

Industry Challenges Driving PRINCE2 Demand in Basel

    Cross-Border Project Coordination

Basel's trinational CH-DE-FR location means teams and suppliers span borders, so a shared, tailorable project method keeps distributed delivery aligned and controlled.

    PRINCE2 keeps distributed delivery aligned

    Structured Method Talent Shortage

The region is deep in domain specialists but short of professionals fluent in a recognised project method, making certified PRINCE2 practitioners stand out to hiring managers.

"The combined format took me from the basics to Practitioner in one pathway. The open-book exam practice and mock scenarios made the Practitioner paper far less daunting, and I now lead our clinical delivery projects with a proper method behind me."

Finally Understand the Method We Use

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method, and this combined certification covers both levels: Foundation validates your knowledge of the method and Practitioner proves you can tailor and apply it. Both exams are based on the current PRINCE2 7 edition (2023) from PeopleCert.

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method, and this combined certification covers both levels: Foundation validates your knowledge of the method and Practitioner proves you can tailor and apply it. Both exams are based on the current PRINCE2 7 edition (2023) from PeopleCert.

Who should take PRINCE2 training in Basel?

It suits aspiring and practising project managers, coordinators and team members working in PRINCE2 environments, and professionals in Basel's pharma, life sciences, banking and public sectors who want a recognised, structured project method credential.

    Is PRINCE2 recognised in Switzerland?

Yes. PRINCE2 is globally recognised and well suited to Switzerland's governance-heavy, regulated business culture. Over one million PRINCE2 certificates have been issued worldwide, and PeopleCert operates in more than 200 countries.

What is new in PRINCE2 7?

PRINCE2 7 (2023) introduced a new People capability covering leadership and stakeholder engagement, renamed the former themes as seven practices, and integrated agile, sustainability and commercial management across the method.

How long are the PRINCE2 certifications valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points per cycle; Practitioner can be renewed by re-taking the exam, completing CPD via a MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Basel?

Training fees vary by format and schedule and are available on request. The two PeopleCert exam fees are billed separately and vary by region and channel. Request a quote for current Basel pricing and any group rates.

What is included in the course fee?

Your enrolment typically includes instructor-led training for both levels, PeopleCert-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, learner support and a course completion certificate. Ask a learning advisor what your chosen format includes.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Exam fees are billed by PeopleCert and are usually quoted separately from training. Combined training and dual-exam packages are common, so confirm exactly what your package covers when you enrol.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate PRINCE2 training with customised schedules and volume pricing for teams in Basel and across Switzerland. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How is the PRINCE2 Foundation exam structured?

The Foundation exam is closed book with 60 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. You need 60%, that is 36 correct out of 60, to pass. It tests your knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 7 method.

How is the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam structured?

The Practitioner exam is open book with 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, over 150 minutes. You need 60%, that is 42 out of 70 marks. It is scenario-based and tests how you apply and tailor PRINCE2.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual during the Practitioner exam. The questions require analysis and judgement, not simple look-up, so time management remains important throughout.

Do I need Foundation before Practitioner?

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation is the prerequisite for the Practitioner exam. Certain equivalents such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA levels may also be accepted; verify the current accepted equivalents with PeopleCert.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can re-sit the exam. Our training includes structured preparation, practice questions and mock exams to support a first-time pass, and we can guide you on re-sit steps if needed. Ask about our flexi options.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 training cover?

The programme covers the seven principles, the People capability, the seven practices (business case, organising, plans, quality, risk, issues and progress) and the seven processes, plus tailoring PRINCE2 to real project scenarios.

Do I need prior experience to start?

No. PRINCE2 Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, so beginners can start here. Practical examples and trainer support help you build from the basics up to Practitioner-level application.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive PeopleCert-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams and revision aids covering both certification levels, along with guidance on navigating the PRINCE2 7 manual for the open-book exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams for both Foundation and Practitioner, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness before test day.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest edition?

Yes. All content is aligned to PRINCE2 7 (2023), the current 7th edition published by PeopleCert and AXELOS, and to the official Foundation and Practitioner syllabuses.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol on the Invensis Learning website, choose your format, and get access to schedules and courseware. Live online and classroom batches run regularly for Basel professionals. Talk to an advisor to find the next batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule.

What are the eligibility requirements to enrol?

Anyone can enrol in the training. There are no prerequisites for the Foundation exam; the Practitioner exam requires PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent qualification.

Can I reschedule or transfer my booking?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or move to another batch. Contact our support team to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
