Do I need work experience to take CAPM?

What is the format of the CAPM exam?

The CAPM exam has 150 multiple-choice questions and lasts three hours. It is closed book and delivered through Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam is based on the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023 and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The exam covers four domains from the 2023 CAPM ECO: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%) and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%). Around half of the exam reflects agile and hybrid approaches.

Is there a fixed passing score for CAPM?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, so aim for broad mastery across all four CAPM domains rather than a single target score. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback.

How many attempts do I get, and can I retake the exam?

You may attempt the CAPM exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. If needed, reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams and practice questions are designed to help you pass on your first attempt.

Where can I take the CAPM exam in Germany?
