What Is Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner Certification?UntitledA Complete Route from Foundation to Practitioner

The Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner Certification Course (BA F&P) is an EXIN accredited, two-level programme that takes you from foundational business analysis concepts to applying BA tools and techniques in real project scenarios. Delivered as instructor-led business analysis certification training in Estonia, it prepares you for two separate EXIN examinations in one structured journey. Both credentials are governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BCS BoK). The Foundation level validates knowledge across 14 topic areas, while the Practitioner level tests applied judgement across 7 scenario-based topic areas. There are no formal prerequisites for Foundation, and the Foundation certificate is the recommended step before Practitioner. Estonia's digital-first economy, from e-governance to its fintech and startup scene, has made skilled business analysts one of the most sought-after roles in Tallinn. Both certifications are valid for lifetime with no renewal, so you can build a globally recognised BA credential and grow your career with Invensis Learning.

Invensis Learning is an EXIN Accredited Training Provider in Estonia, approved to deliver official Business Analysis training using EXIN-aligned courseware and the EXIN Business Analysis Certification Examination Content Outline(ECO).

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a two-level EXIN BCS programme in business analysis. The Foundation certificate validates BA knowledge across 14 topic areas, and the Practitioner certificate tests applied techniques across 7 scenario-based areas. Both are governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Is this business analysis certification worth it in Estonia?

Yes. Business analysis is in strong demand across Estonia's IT, fintech and e-governance sectors, with analyst salaries in Tallinn averaging around 35,441 EUR and senior and BI roles paying more. An accredited credential helps you stand out in a market where certified analysts are relatively scarce.

    Who should take this course?

It suits aspiring business analysts, IT professionals and project managers moving into BA roles, and practising analysts who want to formalise their knowledge. There are no formal prerequisites for the Foundation level, so beginners are welcome.

Who governs these credentials and are they recognised internationally?

Both credentials are issued by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. EXIN operates in over 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered body for IT, so the credentials are recognised across Europe, including Estonia, and worldwide.

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement.

    Pricing

How much does the business analysis training cost in Estonia?

Training fees vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. The combined programme is typically purchased as a training and dual exam package. Contact a learning advisor for a quote and to see upcoming batches.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry case studies, mock exams for both levels, and learner support. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers are bundled when you enquire, as inclusions vary by package.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Exam voucher inclusion varies by package. EXIN exam pricing also varies by region and purchasing channel. Ask your learning advisor to confirm exactly what is included for your enrolment before you book.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams across Estonia. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the two exams?

Both are closed-book, 40-question exams of 60 minutes each. The Foundation exam uses single-answer multiple-choice questions, while the Practitioner exam uses scenario-based multiple-choice questions that require you to apply BA techniques.

What is the passing score for each exam?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 correct answers out of 40. You must sit and pass both the Foundation and Practitioner exams to hold both credentials.

What are the prerequisites for each level?

The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite before you take the Practitioner exam.

Where can I take the exams?

You can take both exams online through EXIN's online proctored system, or at an EXIN accredited testing location. Exams are typically arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the programme.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You can resit an exam if needed. Our training includes mock exams and first-attempt guidance to help you prepare thoroughly. Verify the current EXIN resit policy and any fees with your advisor before booking.

    Course Content

What topics does the course cover?

Foundation covers 14 topic areas including investigation techniques, requirements engineering, process modelling, stakeholder management, strategy analysis and business cases. Practitioner covers 7 applied areas such as understanding the current situation, identifying solutions and building the business case.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level assumes no prior business analysis knowledge and starts with core concepts, so beginners and those in adjacent roles can follow it comfortably before progressing to Practitioner.

Are practice materials and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry case studies and mock exams for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the current standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the official EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner Examination Specifications and to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    How long is the training?

The combined programme is delivered as a 32-hour course, scheduled as full-day or extended formats to suit different learners and teams. Foundation content is covered first, followed by Practitioner content.
