What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The exam is open book, with 8 objective questions each worth 10 marks, giving 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours (150 minutes). Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted.

What is the passing score for the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

You need 50 per cent to pass, which is 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Because questions require analysis in realistic scenarios, efficient navigation of the open-book materials matters.

What are the prerequisites for the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required before you can sit the Assessor exam. COBIT 5 Implementation is recommended, as the Assessor syllabus assumes both Foundation and Implementation knowledge. Confirm current prerequisites on the PeopleCert portal.

How and where do I take the exam?

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

You should hold COBIT 5 Foundation, and ideally Implementation, as the assessor training builds on both and does not re-teach them. Practical experience in IT audit or governance assessment is strongly recommended.

Yes. The programme includes COBIT 5 Assessor practice questions and mock exams that mirror the 8-question, open-book format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the current syllabus?

How long is the training?
