Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is PMI's flagship, globally recognised credential for professionals who lead and direct projects and teams. It suits project managers, team leads and delivery professionals using predictive, agile or hybrid approaches, and is valued by employers across the UK and in more than 200 countries.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is PMI's flagship, globally recognised credential for professionals who lead and direct projects and teams. It suits project managers, team leads and delivery professionals using predictive, agile or hybrid approaches, and is valued by employers across the UK and in more than 200 countries.

Is the PMP certification worth it in the UK?

Yes. PMP holders report around 23% higher median pay than non-certified peers, and demand is strong across UK finance, infrastructure, energy and IT. With record infrastructure investment and digital transformation, certified project leaders are consistently sought after.

Why choose Invensis Learning for PMP training?

Invensis Learning is a PMI Authorized Training Partner offering PMI-aligned courseware, experienced trainers, flexible live virtual and classroom delivery, and dedicated PMP application and exam support, helping you move from learning to certified with a clear path.

    Is the PMP recognised internationally?

Yes. The PMP is recognised in more than 200 countries and is widely regarded as the global gold standard of project management certification. It appears in government procurement, client contracts and employer job specifications worldwide.

How long is the PMP certification valid?

The PMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in the UK?

PMP training fees vary by format, such as live virtual, classroom or corporate group training. Pricing for UK learners is available on request. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current batch prices and options.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 35 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application support and a course completion certificate. Ask about the inclusions for your chosen format.

Is the PMP exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and it is not part of the training fee. PMI membership can reduce the exam fee and gives free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition. Verify current fees at pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams, PMOs and departments across the UK. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP is a closed-book exam of 180 questions in 230 minutes, including two 10-minute breaks. It uses multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions, delivered online via Pearson VUE or at a test centre.

How many domains does the PMP exam cover?

The current exam, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, covers five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts, Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies, Agile Frameworks, Business Analysis and Strategic Management, and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMP exam?

There are two paths: a four-year degree plus 36 months leading projects, or a secondary diploma plus 60 months leading projects. Both require 35 contact hours of project management education, which this training provides.

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the PMP exam first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window, and our preparation, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts; confirm current amounts at pmi.org.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PMP training?

The training covers the five PMP domains aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition: fundamentals and core concepts, predictive delivery, agile and hybrid frameworks, business analysis and strategic alignment, and stakeholder engagement, plus exam strategy.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

You can enrol in the training at any experience level to earn your 35 contact hours. To sit the PMP exam itself, PMI requires documented project leadership experience. Our advisors can help you check your eligibility before you apply.

Does the PMP cover agile as well as predictive methods?

Yes. Roughly half the exam reflects agile or hybrid approaches. The current exam includes a dedicated Agile Frameworks domain alongside predictive methods, so you learn to lead across the full delivery spectrum UK employers expect.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates, and chapter-wise quizzes and flashcards to reinforce learning and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the current PMP Examination Content Outline, so you prepare against the latest exam content rather than an older edition.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

What training formats are available in the UK?

We offer instructor-led PMP training online (live virtual), classroom training, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

When are the next PMP batches in the UK?

We run regular weekday and weekend batches across UK time zones. View upcoming schedules on our website or contact a learning advisor to find the next start date that works for you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include a Flexi Pass to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
