Does DFSS training expire or need renewal?

No. There is no certification to maintain and no renewal cycle. The DMADV methodology and DFSS tools you learn are immediately applicable and do not expire, so you can use them on design projects straight away.

Is DFSS an accredited certification?

No. This is a vendor-neutral, non-certification skills course focused on the DFSS methodology and toolset. There is no accredited credential or governing body attached to the training itself.

What topics does the DFSS course cover?

The course covers DFSS foundations and the DMADV roadmap, the Define phase (VOC and Kano), the Measure phase (CTQ flow-down and QFD), the Analyse phase (concept selection and Design FMEA), the Design phase (robust design and DFMA) and the Verify phase (verification, validation and design transfer).

What tools will I learn to use?

You will practise Voice of the Customer capture, the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment, the Pugh concept-selection matrix, Design FMEA with RPN, the P-diagram, robust design and the design scorecard.

Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day, applying VOC to CTQ flow-down, QFD House of Quality construction, the Pugh matrix and Design FMEA to realistic product and process design scenarios so you can use the tools at work.

How long is the DFSS training?

The course is delivered as one day of eight hours, covering all six DMADV phases with concept explanations, real-world case examples and hands-on tool exercises. A two half-day format is also available.

What is the DMADV roadmap?

DMADV stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. It is the most widely used DFSS framework, guiding you from defining customer requirements through measuring CTQs, analysing concepts, creating a robust design and verifying it before launch.
