Course Content

What will I learn in the Azure DevOps course?

You will learn to manage source control in Azure Repos, build CI/CD pipelines with Azure Pipelines, plan work in Azure Boards, provision infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, deploy containers to AKS, and monitor systems with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

How long is the training and how is it structured?

The course runs for one day of eight hours, delivered as a full day or two half-days. It is organised into six modules covering DevOps foundations, source control and CI, continuous delivery, Agile planning and IaC, containers and monitoring, and DevSecOps.

Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on Azure exercises run throughout the day. You configure repositories and branch policies, write YAML pipelines, deploy a Bicep template, set up monitoring and link a Key Vault variable group, so you practise each service as you learn it.

Does the course cover Kubernetes and containers?

Yes. You learn to build Docker images, store them in Azure Container Registry, and deploy containerised applications to Azure Kubernetes Service using kubectl, Helm and pipeline tasks, including image promotion from build through to production.

Is the content aligned with current Azure DevOps services?

Yes. The curriculum reflects the current Azure DevOps toolchain and Microsoft Azure services. Because Microsoft updates Azure frequently, sessions focus on the services and practices in current use across the delivery lifecycle.

Assessment

Is there an exam for this course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure exercises throughout the programme rather than a formal assessment, so you focus on building practical capability.

Do I receive a certificate on completion?

Yes. You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning after completing the programme. This confirms attendance and completion of the training and is separate from any Microsoft certification.

How is my progress checked during the course?

Progress is checked informally through the hands-on exercises and trainer-led discussion rather than a graded test. You apply each Azure DevOps service as you go, which lets the trainer support you where you need it.

Will this course prepare me for real Azure DevOps work?

Yes. The course is designed around workplace application. You leave able to build pipelines, provision infrastructure as code, deploy containers and set up monitoring, which are the day-to-day tasks Irish employers expect from Azure DevOps practitioners.

Is the Course Completion Certificate the same as a Microsoft credential?

No. The Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning confirms you completed the training. It is a skills course, not a Microsoft certification, and there is no external awarding body or exam attached to it.
