    What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

    The exam is a closed-book test of 150 multiple-choice questions, with a reference document of formulas and tables provided. Some forms include up to 15 additional unscored questions. It is delivered online with proctoring or at a test centre.

    How long is the exam and what is the passing score?

    You have four hours (240 minutes) to complete the exam, with extra time available for non-native speakers. The passing score is 580 out of 750 points. Non-native English speakers may be allowed an additional 60 minutes.

    How are the exam questions distributed across DMAIC?

    Questions follow the five DMAIC phases: Define 13.5%, Measure 21.5%, Analyze 26.5%, Improve 16.5% and Control 22.0%. Analyze and Control carry the most weight, so our training focuses heavily on statistics and process control.

    What is the exam application process?

    You can take an optional non-proctored evaluation exam to check readiness, then purchase your exam voucher from the certification body and choose online proctored delivery or a test centre. Schedule your sitting, pass the 150-question exam, and you receive a certificate, digital badge and a register listing. Our team guides you through each step.

    What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    The training covers the full DMAIC framework: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. It includes advanced statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, and Lean tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban and Poka-Yoke.

    Yes. There are no prerequisites, and the programme builds from core concepts up to advanced statistical methods, so motivated learners new to Six Sigma can follow it. Prior Green Belt knowledge or project experience helps but is not required.
