The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is PMI's entry-level credential for people new to project management. It suits students, recent graduates, career changers and project team members who want to prove foundational project knowledge and enter the profession.

What is the CAPM certification and who is it for?

Is the CAPM certification worth it in India?

Yes. CAPM is a globally recognised PMI credential that helps early-career professionals stand out for project coordinator, administrator and junior manager roles across India's IT services, GCC, BFSI and infrastructure sectors, where certified talent is increasingly preferred.

Does CAPM require work experience?

No. CAPM is the only PMI credential that requires no project management work experience. You need a secondary degree, such as a higher secondary certificate or global equivalent, plus 23 hours of project management education, which this training provides.

How long is the CAPM certification valid?

CAPM is valid for three years. Unlike PMP, you renew it by retaking and passing the CAPM exam within the three-year cycle rather than by earning PDUs, so there is no PDU requirement for this credential.

How is CAPM different from PMP?

CAPM is the entry-level credential needing only 23 hours of education and no experience, while PMP is an advanced credential requiring months of leading projects. CAPM is the natural first step towards PMP as your experience grows.

What is included in the CAPM course fee?

How much does CAPM training cost in India?

CAPM training fees in India vary by format and batch and are quoted in INR. The PMI exam fee is charged separately in USD under regional pricing. Contact a learning advisor for current India pricing and any available offers.

How much is the CAPM exam fee?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 225 for members and USD 300 for non-members; actual fees vary, so confirm on pmi.org. PMI membership, about USD 139 a year, reduces the exam fee and includes the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The CAPM exam covers four domains from the 2023 Examination Content Outline: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%) and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%).

How many questions are on the CAPM exam and how long is it?

The CAPM exam has 150 multiple-choice questions and lasts three hours (180 minutes). It is closed book and based on the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023, aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition.

Is there a fixed passing score for CAPM?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. Your result is set through psychometric analysis and reported with performance feedback across the four CAPM domains, so aim for broad mastery rather than a target percentage.

Where and how do I take the CAPM exam?

You can take the CAPM exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre in India. Scheduling is done via PMI's portal or Pearson VUE within your one-year eligibility period.

What if I do not pass the CAPM exam the first time?

You can attempt the CAPM exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes mock exams and revision support to help you prepare thoroughly for your first attempt.

What will I learn in the CAPM training?

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No prior project experience is needed. CAPM is designed for beginners, and the training starts from core concepts, so students, graduates and career changers can follow it comfortably with trainer support throughout.

The course is aligned to the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023 and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, along with the Agile Practice Guide, covering predictive, agile and hybrid ways of working.

What learning materials are provided?

How long is the training and does it meet the education requirement?

The programme runs for 24 contact hours, delivered as three full days, four half-days or a flexible schedule. It exceeds PMI's 23-hour education requirement, fully satisfying that prerequisite for the CAPM exam.
