How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate PeopleCert exams: the PRINCE2 Foundation exam and the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials. The combined training prepares you for each one.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The PRINCE2 Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 60 minutes. It is closed book, and the pass mark is 60%, which is 36 out of 60 correct. It is delivered online with proctoring or at a test centre.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The PRINCE2 Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, with 150 minutes allowed. It is open book, using scenario-based objective questions, and the pass mark is 60%, which is 42 out of 70 marks.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may refer to the PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects 7th Edition manual during the Practitioner exam. Time management still matters, because the questions test analysis and judgment in project scenarios, not simple look-up.

What is the passing score for both exams?

Both exams require 60% to pass. Foundation needs 36 out of 60 questions correct, and Practitioner needs 42 out of 70 marks. Aim for broad mastery across the principles, practices and processes.

What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can re-sit the exam you did not pass. Selected training plans include retake or Flexi Pass support so you can revise and attempt again with guidance. Confirm current PeopleCert re-sit policy and fees before booking.

What topics does the PRINCE2 training cover?

The training covers the seven PRINCE2 principles, the People capability, the seven practices (business case, organising, plans, quality, risk, issues and progress) and the seven processes, plus tailoring PRINCE2 to real projects and exam strategy for both levels.

What is new in PRINCE2 7 compared with PRINCE2 6?

PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) introduces the People capability as a core element, renames Themes to Practices, incorporates commercial management, and integrates agile and sustainability considerations across the method, along with updated management products.

Can a beginner take this course, or do I need experience?

Beginners are welcome. PRINCE2 Foundation has no formal prerequisites, so you can start with no prior project management experience. Practitioner requires Foundation first, and the combined programme covers both levels in one supported journey.
