Is Primavera P6 training worth it for planners in India?

Yes. P6 is specified on most large capital projects in India, so P6 fluency is a direct route into planning and project controls roles. Planning engineer roles in India average around 22.6 lakh a year, with senior project controls roles paying considerably more.

Do I get a certificate after completing the training?

Yes. This is a non-examination skills course, so there is no formal credential or awarding body. On completion you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning that confirms your Primavera P6 training.

What are the two levels of Primavera P6 training?

Fundamentals (2 days, 16 hours) covers the enterprise structure, activity scheduling, the critical path, resources, baselines and progress tracking. Advanced (3 days, 24 hours) covers resource and cost loading, earned value, Claim Digger, multi-project control and custom reporting.

Do I need an Oracle Primavera P6 licence to attend?

You should have access to Oracle Primavera P6, either the P6 Professional client or P6 EPPM web, to follow the hands-on exercises. P6 is a separate Oracle product. Ask us whether a training environment or trial database is provided for your session.

Course Content

What will I learn in the Fundamentals level?

You learn to navigate P6 and the enterprise project structure (EPS, OBS, WBS), create and configure projects, build activities and relationships, run the scheduler, interpret the critical path and float, assign resources, set baselines and update progress.

What does the Advanced level cover?

The Advanced level covers advanced scheduling options, resource and cost loading with cost accounts, earned value management, baseline management and Claim Digger, multi-project and enterprise portfolio control, and custom reporting with Excel integration.

Do I need prior experience to start?

No. The Fundamentals level has no prerequisites and is designed for those new to Primavera P6. For the Advanced level you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on P6 experience.

How long is the training and how many hours is it?

Fundamentals is 2 days (16 hours) and Advanced is 3 days (24 hours). Both are available as full-day sessions or extended half-day formats, so you can choose the schedule that fits your availability.

Is the training hands-on with real P6 exercises?

Yes. Both levels are delivered with live, instructor-led P6 exercises using realistic construction and capital-project scenarios, so you build the software through practice rather than theory alone.
