What Is the Observability Foundation Certification?UntitledYour Route into Modern IT Reliability

The Observability Foundation (OBSF) is a vendor-neutral certification from the DevOps Institute that validates your ability to understand a system's internal state from the data it produces. Observability Foundation certification training in Namibia gives IT, DevOps and site reliability professionals the concepts, practices and tools to move from traditional monitoring to full observability across metrics, logs and distributed traces. Grounded in the DevOps Institute Observability Foundation Exam Blueprint (Body of Knowledge), the course covers the three pillars, SLIs, SLOs and error budgets, OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipelines, alerting strategy and the culture that makes observability work. It suits practitioners at Namibian telecoms, banks, insurers and cloud providers who keep digital services running. Whether you are formalising hands-on experience or stepping into an SRE or platform role, the OBSF credential is globally recognised, valid for three years, and a clear signal to employers that you can improve reliability, performance and incident response. Start your observability journey with Invensis Learning.

Invensis Learning is a Peoplecert Accredited Training Organization (2778) in Namibia, approved to deliver official Observability Foundation training using accredited courseware and standards.

What Is Driving Observability Demand Across Namibia

    Costly Service Outages

Namibia's ICT sector saw repeated disruptions in 2025 from cyber breaches, undersea cable failures and cloud provider outages. Observability helps teams detect and resolve issues before customers feel them.

OBSF builds detection and incident-response skills

    Legacy Infrastructure Drag

Banks and operators are replacing obsolete legacy systems, but limited insight into complex environments slows them down. Observability gives the visibility needed to modernise with confidence.

OBSF builds visibility for safe modernisation

    Cloud-Native Complexity

As MTC and others adopt cloud-native and microservices architectures, traditional monitoring cannot keep up. Observability across metrics, logs and traces is essential for distributed systems.

    OBSF builds distributed-systems observability skills

    Scarce Reliability Talent

Namibia faces a shortage of certified DevOps and SRE professionals. Employers value the OBSF credential as proof that a candidate can implement observability in practice.

OBSF makes certified engineers stand out

    Rising Reliability Expectations

With 5G, digital banking and e-government expanding, users expect always-on services. Teams need SLIs, SLOs and error budgets to protect the customer experience at scale.

OBSF builds SLI, SLO and error-budget skills

    Pressure to Control Cloud Costs

High-cardinality telemetry can be expensive to store and query. Observability training teaches sampling and pipeline strategies that keep data useful while managing cost.

    From Dashboards to Real Observability

"The course finally made the three pillars click for me. I now instrument our services with OpenTelemetry and set SLOs that mean something. I passed the OBSF exam on my first attempt and the mock questions were spot on."

    Practical and Immediately Useful

"As an SRE, the sections on error budgets and burn-rate alerting changed how our team handles on-call. The trainer used realistic cloud-native scenarios, so everything applied directly to our work the next week."

Great Bridge from Monitoring to Observability

"I came from a traditional monitoring background and the course bridged the gap to full observability. The distributed tracing module was the highlight, and the open-book exam felt fair after the practice sets."

Faster Incident Response Across the Team

"We enrolled our platform team to standardise how we handle metrics, logs and traces. Incident response is measurably faster now, and the whole team shares one language around SLOs. The corporate delivery was well organised."

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Observability Foundation (OBSF) is a DevOps Institute certification that validates a foundational understanding of the concepts, practices and tools needed to implement observability in modern IT. It covers the three pillars of metrics, logs and traces, SLIs, SLOs and observability tooling.

The Observability Foundation (OBSF) is a DevOps Institute certification that validates a foundational understanding of the concepts, practices and tools needed to implement observability in modern IT. It covers the three pillars of metrics, logs and traces, SLIs, SLOs and observability tooling.

Yes. As Namibian telecoms, banks and cloud providers modernise their systems and work to cut downtime, certified observability and SRE talent is scarce and well paid. OBSF signals that you can improve reliability, opening doors to DevOps, SRE and platform roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

It suits DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers, platform engineers, developers, IT operations staff and technical managers who want to implement or oversee observability. It is also valuable for anyone moving from traditional monitoring into modern reliability practice.

The certification is offered by the DevOps Institute, now part of PeopleCert, a globally recognised body advancing DevOps and SRE practices. Invensis Learning is an authorized training provider delivering the aligned course.

The Observability Foundation certification is valid for three years. You renew it by earning the required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through DevOps Institute membership and continuing education activities.

No formal prerequisites are required. Familiarity with DevOps concepts or IT operations is helpful but not essential, which makes the course accessible to professionals early in their observability journey.
